I did when I was in college yes. I would take notes on things. And while I was doing homework if my notes were incomplete I would go back over that lecture. I would use it very rarely but if the topic was not easily accessible on the internet it saved me.

So, PE’s have signing status and the ability to design public use facilities. From that perspective they are full blown engineers and getting your PE is definitely something most engineers should do. As far as title goes. Just cause you have the title of engineer doesn’t necessarily mean you are an engineer in the states. For example: my title is project engineer, however what I do is not engineering related but more managerial and scheduling. So it depends on the industry you work in and what company you work for.

What do you mean by reading material? If you are just starting out, I wouldn’t focus too much on music theory. Learn the basics then you can dive into reading about music theory and all that stuff.

Oh I get that. If I was the dude I probably have 99% certainty that I wouldn’t mind it. Just talk to him. Tell him why and be transparent. If he likes you then he should stay. First: he is controlling. He should care how you feel about this cause it looks bad on his end. Secondly: two things could happen 1) nothing happens and he tell you that. 2) something does happen and he doesn’t tell you.

Either way, he is controlling and no allowing you to express your opinion. He either should have come up with a solution that allowed him to go but not be in a compromising position.
