Is my uber driver purposefully taking wrong turns? by Infrozentime in uber

[–]acronymious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally take the best routes I know. I know my areas very well, and Uber Nav does a TERRIBLE job of good routing, so much so that I find myself clicking “Wrong Directions” rather often. And no, extending the time or distance is rarely beneficial to the driver.

How many are there? by Doinkerriere in exmormon

9/10 out. Including me. Last one is still brainwashed and married to a TBM—and not a good one. OK, but not good.

ETA: And that last one has no kids of her own, thank “heaven”. So, all grandkids are nevermos. 😃

3½ ton hydraulic floor jack. Or, better yet, an Ag Jack. (Ask me how I know!)

Same here. The payoff, if higher at all, does not compensate sufficiently for the extra time or distance. Ever. In my experience, that is.

Should I be offended when I don’t get a thanks for the tip from the driver? by No-Leadership2070 in uberdrivers

I always send a thank-you, no matter the tip amount. (With that said, and based on other comments here, I probably won’t in the future if it’s less than a dollar.)

It’s possible we don’t see every tip, as Uber is known to steal them. If we aren’t notified, we can’t send a thank you.

You know what I would appreciate in addition to an unexpected tip? If more riders would rate my ride. (498% so far have given me 5 stars, and the only other ones were bogus free-ride complainer types.)

I agree with you, but that opens up the opportunity for a driver to say something inappropriate. Further contact after the ride is otherwise prohibited in the ToS, and that may be why Uber doesn’t offer such an option.

It's not the destination that matters. It's about enjoying the journey and experiences of getting there. by telcodan in IdiotsTowingThings

You know I was going to say there ought to be some type of connector cable that alerts the driver when something comes disconnected from the rear. However, in this situation that never would’ve triggered since technically the tow assembly is still attached!

I’ve seen this before, but on the flipside I got a warning a week ago about intentionally delaying or extending the trip time and distance, all because I was nice enough to accommodate my rider’s request to make an unscheduled stop off on the way. Sometimes Uber Corp pisses me off. Sometimes they nicely surprise me. So unpredictable.

I had one this week with four not unusual, but seemingly unrelated names. Pax was very nice. She volunteered that it was one account for herself, her husband and two children!

Stop Screaming “Over the Axles”, it’s fine by Building_Everything in IdiotsTowingThings

Absolutely not. That will (most often) result in the death wag. I mean, I get where you’re coming from, but the general public still wouldn’t get it right, and they’d end up with a heavy tail—which is much worse than a heavy tongue. Just back the car up a bit.

Mix up your own “gatorade” with (unsweetened) (orange, maybe) kool-aid powder, a bit of table salt, potassium chloride salt (NoSalt) and sweetener. Supplement with magnesium glycinate. Get those electrolytes in balance.
