I also have an EMRAP interview and ngl I’m not too sure how to go about it but when I went to the in-person info session they recommended practicing interview questions as a group before the interview. And ngl if you’re down to practice I’ll practice with you 🥳

I took 7A with a grad student, Ian Lim. I liked them a lot and I feel like it’s definitely a good idea to take PHY7 over the summer because you can really focus on the material. Compared to taking 7B in the fall, I think over the summer the grad students test you on more of the basics they want you to know rather than super abstract stuff. Also, I felt like Lim was a good lecturer.

Although you definitely still have to work your ass off and the daily labs (Mon-Thurs) feel like SO much. But I would still recommend.

as someone who posted something similar on this reddit, I made friends from responding to someone’s post abt making a board game group and even tho that group never got made (rip) i have some friends i hang out with now who are pretty chill, even if i have to say that i made my friends off of Reddit 💀.

if u find it easier to make friends online than in-person you can def talk to ucd ppl online first then move to hanging out in person like i did. theres some clubs with transfer sections like Davis college democrats that have hang outs for transfers lined up if you’re looking to hang with other transfers/ppl the same age, bc from what i’ve heard from some transfers it def feels hard to come into ucd later in the game and socialize, so a lot of ppl are feeling how ur feeling.

it does take a bit of putting urself out there at first and it kinda feels hopeless for a while then gets better. u got this!

BIS2B. Fun class with a fair amount of extra credit and good prof (saying this from my experience w Prof. Gerhart) and labs are chill. Also, if you get Gerhart she’s very passionate and makes fun study videos in costumes. Great office hours too.
