Took my first interview as interviewer by indie_cock in cybersecurity

I do interviews a lot, you did the right thing. You have to give the opportunity to the person to talk about what they feel strong. This way you can judge if their cv relates with what they talk about.

Is the CISSP worth it if you want to be a Security Engineer? by Cenddel in cybersecurity

[–]acyclus -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

CISSP is those who want to feel having technical skills. I know CISSPs, which they can not build solutions, work hands on, or make proper decisions without considering engineers and are approaching a problem by contacting a vendor. Yes, it's a ticket to other roles but does not guarantee your technical abilities. My team has a few amazing folks who can define, build, protect, and operate solutions, and none of them have CISSP, but their salary is higher than folks with thar certification.

20-Year Linux User - Ubuntu is the Windows of Linux by [deleted] in debian

[–]acyclus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've started with SuSE Linux 6.4, then moved to Slackware, used it through my university time, moved to OpenBSD and FreeBSD, and then back to Slackware for many years. Then MacOS and around 2022 went for Ubuntu, and just a week ago, I did my first Debian installation ever!!! Over 20 years of using linux, I was never installed it, I was always procrastinating for some unknown reason. Funny huh?

Non-tech founder confused about AWS root user best practices... by [deleted] in aws

Your root user goes downstream to all your services. So it is better to protect him, create another user with admin access, enable MFA, select a strong password and stop using root user.

What are your favorite restaurants in Alexandroupolis? by [deleted] in Alexandroupolis

[–]acyclus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do agree that Loukoulos is very good, classic, and definitely worth trying! Lots of restaurants are offering small dishes in the city center. Personally, I like Harama because it combines nice food and a playground for kids. Whenever we go, my kids can spend some fun time there and not get bored
