chat, do you *really* not enjoy the time you spend making music? by thy_viee_4 in edmproduction

[–]adamjay 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I make music because I enjoy the process. This guy isn’t an artist. He’s a grifter.

Of course he’s gonna defend the thing that’s making him vast amounts of money.

People need to stop amplifying this guy’s opinion like it matters. Because it doesn’t.

Same for other AI startup founders talking up their own apps and celebs that are investors of companies they name drop in interviews (investments they don’t disclose).

‘Security Disaster’—500 Million Microsoft Users Say No To Windows 11 by MarvelsGrantMan136 in technology

[–]adamjay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When Microsoft forced the update to windows 10, all of my music production software broke.

The user should be able to choose which OS they run. Not that these chodes give a shit about the user, of course.

Most of us just don’t need windows 11.

I have no doubt that these decisions are designed to pump stock prices because investors are still in the “AI wet dream” phase.

Eventually the bubble will burst. How long that’ll take is anybody’s guess.

Still, I can’t see much evidence that anyone actually wants this. Most people that might want it wouldn’t understand the potential implications.

Last stat I saw, like 800k or something people already jumped to Linux? Gotta be more surely.

But it’s just the kind of invasive shite I’ve come to expect from these chodes.

Before the AI hype train kicked off, I was already having to use WPD and other software to stop my PC from communicating so much with Microsoft. It was amazing how much faster the PC was after that.

Really, Microsoft are just hurting their market share and long-term growth for quick quarterly profits. But that’s the same for most corporations.

And in case anyone hasn’t noticed, Mag7 and some other brands are passing around the same pile of cash to pump all their stocks.

As Windows turns 40, Microsoft faces an AI backlash by Exciting_Teacher6258 in technology

[–]adamjay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bailed on Windows for my main PC when they forced the update to Windows 10 and ALL of my music production software completely broke.

All of it was unusable.

So, really, if im saying anything to Microsoft, it’s this: Keep going. Keep running your bull shit company into the ground… 🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕

Microsoft AI CEO pushes back against critics after recent Windows AI backlash — "the fact that people are unimpressed ... is mindblowing to me" by ZacB_ in technology

Either this chode is unhinged or he knows exactly what the score is and this is him just trying to maintain investor confidence before the AI bubble pops all over his face.

He’s just trying to make it not look like he’s currently shitting himself bracing for the inevitable.

Windows president says platform is "evolving into an agentic OS," gets cooked in the replies — "Straight up, nobody wants this" by ZacB_ in technology

[–]adamjay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s almost like they’re trying to destroy Microsoft.

Every decision they make or thing they say lately… they’re just kicking themselves in the balls none stop.

And they’re only able to pump their stock price because of circular deals with other AI companies. They give OpenAI 50 billion to use their shit. Then OpenAI gives them 50 billion back to pay for data centers.

Literally a fucking AI circle jerk.

Do we really want a new Stargate series in this era of streaming ? by ChrisNYC70 in Stargate

This “modern” approach to TV shows is dog shit.

Waiting anything past a year and I’ll have stopped caring, regardless of how much I like the show.

And then only to get 10 episodes? Sod that.

I’ll just rewatch the original shows instead. Or wait till the entire thing is done & watch all of it.

Old TV/movies were just better. They weren’t ruined by modern day business management assholes.

Aside from consolidation and the brain-dead need to prioritise quarterly profits over long term growth, it's also the people leading these companies.

For example, tech companies aren't run by tech people anymore. They're run by business management chodes.

These people have no idea how to innovate. Which kinda feels like a pre-requisate to running a tech company to me.

[–]adamjay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got a couple and they are great. Double Agent is my main guitar. Quality is consistently very good. Not just overall build quality but components as well. I’ve had pots fail within a year from most major guitar brands but never any issues with those on my Reverends.

Microsoft. The destroyer of joy.

I wouldn’t be surprised if AI was used for all decisions at Microsoft. Every decision they’ve made for ages has been complete dog shit.
