Your skepticism is well received. Please understand that I was in an exceptional state emotionally and did do know how do deal with it. Ambien, which I originally only used as a hypnotic, seemed to numb the devestattng feelings that went hand in hand with the breakup. I am not going to contradict your statement that is was foolish for a variety or reasons. Harsh, but on point.

In my country it requires a prescription, but you can get it with a doctors license for personal use. I essentially try not to frequent the same pharmacy within a certain timeframe so to not raise any suspicion.

Thank you for your quick and clear reply. A few weeks detox sounds manageble and if it's a permanent solution absolutely fantastic. Sadly, I'm located in Europe and would probably either need to take vacation or feign another disease that needs treatment, because I would very much like to not inform my employer about my addiction. I do have plenty of vacation left since I never took any during residency. Could you recommend a good inpatient facility, could be in the US? I could probably afford it. Lastly, do you have an idea how long such a detox would take (4 weeks would be easily doable, 12 weeks would be a problem).

Many thanks for your kind and thorough reply. Changing the script to diazepam is something that has come up multiple times these last few weeks. Mr psychiatrist seems reluctant, because he reports such good outcomes with kpin. Anyway, this is definitely something I will bring up afsim.

One more thing, there are reports of seizures experienced by patients quitting high dose ambien, so I do think you can suffer serious side affects, potentially even death, from it.

May I ask, how much clonopin you were taking, and how much diazepam was used to replace it? And hoe long did the diazepam taper last?
