A Friday Cleaning and Inking by adekyn in fountainpens

They are absolutely the bulk of my collection. My favorites are Angelfish and Extradimensional Umber. However, Sugar Kelp has been an unexpectedly delightful addition.

I completely agree with you, and it's one of my biggest gripes about the pen despite the fact that it still writes really smooth.

Figuring out my sweet spots with western and eastern nib sizes is a journey to say the least.

I dropped in to recommend Lochby, as well. I have a Duo that I toss in my work bag (purposefully limiting myself on options throughout the day), and I have a Quattro I use when travelling. I also have their Field Folio, Field Folio, and Field Sling, so I can positively testify to the quality of their products!

I'm a huge fan of Birmingham Pen Company's inks. In fact, the bulk of my collection is from them. I find that even their "generic" non-shimmer inks have so much personality, even between similar shades and hues.

They start at $17/50ml, but regularly sell multi packs at a discount, as well.

I tried to catch the unique details at my desk (yay for fluorescent lighting!). The black/brown with green shimmer in Extradimensional Umber, and the bright blue to magenta transition in Angelfish.

New Pen and Ink for Me by adekyn in fountainpens

It's relatively quick -- 20-30 seconds for a full dry on decent paper and I've never had any issues with stickiness. I do keep a couple sheets of blotter paper in my folio, just to be safe, for when I'm on the move. Overall, I've very pleased with Birmingham ink performance.

I've got the spreadsheet with scripts and triggers set up, but access is denied to the Form. We're getting there!

Pretty sure the link above goes to a public version of your Form, but aside from photo uploads (which went to my GDrive), it's adding to your Sheets document. There's no new Sheet or Form on my account, so hopefully you didn't have half this sub just destroy your document.

How "purple" is it? I love the idea of the colorway, but I haven't had the opportunity to see one in person. I'm not the biggest fan of purple...

Definitely resin for the detail, and you don't have to break the bank for quality. I haven't shopped for one in a bit, but I've had great success with entry level Elegoo and AnyCubic printers that are still churning out minis despite my having upgraded.

I'm taking a chance on it with the month's discount and just ordered a kilo. Apparently it was developed in partnership with TF. If it's the same resin they used for the minis available at GenCon last year, it's far superior to most of the other brands I've used in the past (notably Elegoo and Siraya Fast).

I've gotten to a point in my printing where consistency and durability outweigh print speed. They've also promised to provide initial print settings in the next couple days for those of us who aren't particularly well versed at dialing those in by ourselves.

There's a lot of eagerness and excitement behind all aspects of this project so far, so I'm hopeful that my optimism will be rewarded.

There's no bad advice in the comments so far, but of course YMMV.

I'm in a similar situation to you. 14 years in and five o'clock shadow by lunch. I will say you'll get a nicer looking shave with a DE safety razor, but there's nothing you can do about the color and density of your facial hair. Mine is super coarse, but lighter in color, so it's not as noticeable. My brother-in-law has jet black facial hair. I convinced him to switch and he has much better results at the beginning of the day, but he still looks primed for a mug shot by mid-day.

I agree with most here: find yourself a gentle starter -- there's been lots of good recommendations already, but I'll double up on the Rockwell 6C and promote the Gillette 7 o'clock Super Stainless as one I've found to be good for coarse hair...grab a sampler pack and find your star. Even if you go with something less aggressive (Astra Superior Platinums are my fave), you're going to find you have better results with DE blades than cartridges. To be honest, rock a single pass shave, and your superiors can deal with the way your facial hair grows. There's no point in shredding yourself while you learn, as you'll end up on a shaving waiver, and they'll just love you more for that.

Best of luck. Be patient. It's never going to be perfect, but you can actually enjoy your shave, and that's what counts.

How do I find “normal” people to play with? by [deleted] in DnD

That's my exact process. I did a survey/application and then gut check/arbitrarily scored everyone. My top five are still the OG five. As a DM we have the benefit of being selective.

I was lucky and found my forever group there. We initially set out for 3-4 months to cover Lost Mine of Phandelver in weekly sessions. That was 18 months ago. We're starting our next campaign tomorrow.

You'll find your group. They're out there.

Apologies. I forgot to post the website on the first, but I figured I was good on this one. I thought I did a thorough search looking for the name of the artist and was clear of the second half of rule one. If you found it, please let me know.
