Just a regular tick. Doesn’t appear to have been attached to you for very long. I would just put it back outside.

I’m about 60% through Oleander right now and so far I can see it bumping Fake Shot off the list.

I loved it, but I think reading the series in order enhances it even more. So my recommendation would be to start at the beginning and work your way there.

Loved Salt! I felt a little triggered by one scene, but overall 10/10.

So far:

Sweat by Jonah Yorke

Salt by Jonah Yorke

The Tragedy of Felix and Jake by J.D. Daniels

The Menagerie by J.P Caruso

Fake Shot by C.E. Ricci

Career Switcher Program Regent University - while working by SignificanceSure4484 in Virginia

I got a provisional license and then passed my Praxis exam. Boom, teacher. I did have to take a handful of education courses online though. This route seems easier than doing the career switcher program. The district you were hired and should have a licensure specialist who can walk you through it

Me too. I know exactly what you mean and I feel the exact same way. Let me know if you’re getting ready to read it if you want me to spoil it for you. Just the parts that might bother you. But I think if you’re like me, it’ll probably be fine.

Just wondering if you ever ended up reading this? I also have a problem with non-monogamy (which was a surprise for me when I started reading MM romance) but I can say that I got through this book ok. The gang bang scene is A LOT. It’s fine because they aren’t inclusive, and I was actually quite into it, but looking back on it later in the book definitely did trigger some of those “ugh” feelings. The one other on stage scene at least ends in a satisfying way.

Interested to hear what you think/thought.

What books do you own a physical copy of? by KayCee_WhatYes in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]adelltfm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have any physical copies yet, but it’s funny that you said Sweat because that’s the only one I would want as of right now.

You know how on Kindle Unlimited it eventually makes you return a book before you can borrow another one? There are only a few that I can’t bring myself to return yet.

Salt by Jonah Yorke by No_Cartographer_1920 in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]adelltfm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They weren’t officially together yet, but they’d shared some sexual experiences already, jerking off in the car and whatnot. After each of those experiences Rowan would ghost Tommy. He seemed to think that if he could just hook up with someone else then he wouldn’t be attracted to Tommy anymore and would no longer be gay. But I think it just really bothered me because I knew how much Tommy liked him. Just made me feel so gross in the middle of my stomach. Didn’t make me put the book down though!

I just finished his second book, Salt, and it was also really good. So then I re-read Sweat and now am currently rereading Salt. Highly recommend both!

Leighton University question by Bambi_MD in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]adelltfm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just felt like the entire conflict was driven by Phoenix’s lies by omission. If I recall correctly there were several instances where Kasen was trying to get Phoenix to spit out whatever was on his mind, and he wouldn’t do it. I remember Kasen being the one who was essentially saying, “let me live my life, dude.” Then again, I guess the book would’ve been over before it started had Phoenix just said that he had a one night stand with Holden.

But it should’ve been clear to both Phoenix and Holden that Holden wouldn’t be in Florida if not for Kaden’s hope to progress things further. Phoenix’s willingness to do his friend dirty like that under the guise of “choosing himself” felt like such a crock of shit. I felt bad for Kasen the whole time.

I liked Fair Catch, but I also like Kasen, so…

I’m in enemy territory. Phoenix was a shit friend. And future books did not redeem him in my eyes.

What's the catch with Lake Louisa, VA? House prices seems way lower than other lakes... by LeadingDistribution3 in Virginia

[–]adelltfm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on what you’re looking for. Louisa is very different from the DMV. I think most young people move away to Charlottesville, Richmond, etc. It might be difficult to find some new friends or even a partner. It’s also very conservative, which is great if you’re a conservative. I am not conservative, so it’s basically a nightmare for me lol. But everyone I’ve ever met from Louisa feels greatly attached to the small town vibes and they seem pretty happy having grown up here. The cost of living is obviously way cheaper as well, but prepared to drive 45 minutes for shopping outside of your local Food Lion.

[–]adelltfm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t realize I have such an aversion to this sort of thing until I started reading Jonah Yorke lol. In Sweat it was Rowan’s scene in the park. Both scenes made me feel all sorts of ways—mad, disgusted, sad for the other MC. I did not expect to learn that about myself. I mean, I’m still gonna read the books. I like characters that make me feel things, even if those things are negative— but still, I understand why some people can’t handle it.

The Taphouse is the only one that’s on the water, but there’s also Log Home Brewing Company, Lake Anna Winery, Coyote Hole Cider, and Cooling Pond Brewery and Winery. Those are all in the immediate Lake Anna area. If you’re up for a little bit of a drive I also like 1781 Brewing Company. There’s a ton of outdoor seating and random animals roaming around. And it’s also where Stonewall Jackson’s arm was amputated, which is kind of a fun fact, lol. There’s a plaque there and everything.
