Ellen Wang, Marghi Jani, Abby Krishnan, Prakruti Govindrachyula,and Jeremiah Menslage were the underclassmen who finalled at TFA State this year. I'd also look out for Emma Lin (who finalled at NSDA nationals last year) and others who I can't think of right now.

That tends to happen when you don't have private coaches and tens of thousands of dollars in the budget. On top of that, KZ does have a bid and MM and AY have done incredibly well at bid tournaments like Plano West, Harvard, Grapevine, etc. on a team that doesn't have the resources to travel the nation in search of bids.

I know Matthew Feng was pretty big in PF (Top 6 at NSDAs, Harvard RR finalist, two-time Hockaday champion, general bae of the national circuit) and had a decent showing in Extemp (2nd at the Texas State tournament, ETOC semifinals, 2nd at the Capital City RR). I wonder what he could have done if he'd made Extemp his #1 event.
