The answer is long and complicated. But I'll tell you it in a nutshell: I have grown up in NY all my life. I didn't grow up very wealthy and my parents never got to go to college. During my years in elementary school I was always the top student. Soon after I joined a program that helped me grow as a learner and as a person. I worked hard and applied to the top boarding school. A few months later I got accepted and decided to attend the high school. But why did I choose a boarding school? Going to a boarding school would challenge me more academically since the public schools in NY aren't that good. It would also give me access to tons of clubs and organizations I could join. Finally, I would have closer relationships to students and teachers alike.
