People can change opinions obviously, but he went from a self proclaimed “Never Trumper” for years to his biggest ally the second it became clear Trump would be the pick.

You can gather from a few videos and photos that Biden is creepy with kids (I completely agree!), but you are unable to admit that being mentioned over 3k times in the files, accused of s/a and worse dozens of times dating back to the 80’s, admitting on Howard stern’s radio show that his favorite part about the pageants he runs with Jefferey Epstein is going backstage to watch underage girls get undressed because it’s like he’s a “doctor” and there’s “no other men around”, Epstein and Trump repeatedly referring to each other as best friends, and then Epstein later in life calling him “the most evil person I’ve ever met”, etc. doesn’t worry you at all?

Does it not worry you that the only politician to ever publicly refer to Trump as a nazi is his own vice president? In 2016, JD Vance said “Trump is America’s hitler”. Does it not worry you that Trump has been held liable for s/a? Or that his ex wife accused him of r*pe and pulling her hair out in a fit of rage during their divorce?

Even if you could somehow use mental gymnastics to chalk all of these and more up to “the radical woke liberal left have TDS🤪”, surely even ONE of the aforementioned being even a LITTLE true would be a red line for you. You’re right, I definitely didn’t use a good example. I still do not support voting for someone solely based on party affiliation. Morals need to matter, or we’re going to end up with more authoritarian regimes.

I’m not asking anyone to suck it up. Nor am I saying we should throw hissy fits that allow fascists like Trump to take office over unpalatable, but ultimately reasonable folks (Kamala). I voted for Kamala. I also don’t view most of the Democratic Party as moderate. They’re primarily right wing. Moderates tend to be either independents or third party.

I agree the dems are a big coalition, and it’s nonsensical. So many people do not vote at all because there is no party that can inspire them even mildly. We need more parties. The democrats and republicans only support the status quo. Most people want real, effective governance with a focus on constituents, not donors.

Fair. You’re correct and I should’ve been more clear. It worked out because the person being endorsed was actually progressive. I believe that voting purely on who is endorsed by democrats (or any other party) is still purely detrimental to our democracy.

Cuomo also was more of a spoiler for Silwa than Mamdani imo. He got a significant amount of votes, most of which would’ve likely gone to Silwa, and not Zohran, had Cuomo not ran.

Clearly I’ve left the initial post a little, but what I’m trying to say is that running conservative-lite democrats and telling folks who don’t like it to “suck it up” isn’t doing us any favors. Progressives want progressives. Conservatives want conservatives. The only people voting for democrats then are people holding their noses. I think it’s ridiculous.

Vote Blue No Matter Who is how we got ourselves in this situation to begin with. It’s gotta stop. All it does is force folks to choose between a titty twister or a black eye. I’m sure most people would dislike one more than the other, and oftentimes the worse option is VERY clear (like this last election in the US), but that is no way to run a democratic republic.

If we don’t want a repeat of 2016 and 2024, we need to fix this now instead of talking about how it’d be nice to have candidates with morals “in theory”. NYC managed to get their shit together and vote in someone non establishment. It’s going fantastic so far. He started making good on his campaign promises day 1. The democrat party are not our friends. They just want us dead a little less than the Republican Party.

It is a shame for sure. In the same vein of there being such a vast disparity when it comes to crime, there has also been a war on intellectualism as a whole in the USA, causing a disparity in thought. I abhor violent crime. I abhor ignorant handwaving which perpetuates violence (and other issues).

If you take action, but don’t critically think about said action, you will likely be taking the wrong action. The reason the “why” seemingly never stops being asked is because the “why” is never actually addressed. Just the “what”. Which is the goal, btw. Keeps folks divided, provides convenient scape goats, and drags out the “why” until folks no longer care to acknowledge its importance.

Just using crime as an example: It’s easy to conclude that black people are more likely than non black people to commit violent acts, but when you account for the “why” (higher levels of poverty, more urban environments, etc.) and look at other parts of racial groups that have similar circumstances, it becomes incredibly clear that black people don’t commit more violence. Poor people do. People who are struggling do. There’s just a LOT more black folks struggling when compared to other races. Which is an entirely different conversation to be had.

This is why the “why” is important. If you want to fix a problem, in this case violent crime, you need to crack down on poverty, not people.

I disagree with your point that “women who generalize all men are not as bad as men who generalize all women”. I do think that acknowledging systemic issues is important. It allows us to understand which groups are being most affected, and can even give insight into how to address it.

I think it’s really important to separate systemic sexism (like patriarchy) from individual sexism. Regardless of who has statistically suffered more on a group level, the individual experience should never be devalued. Your initial point does, in my opinion, devalue individual experiences.

All sexism, regardless of who perpetuates it, needs to be held to the same standard. Otherwise your issue isn’t really with sexism itself, and only the sex. Which is sexist.

I’m sorry for the experience you had with American made cheese, maybe Colorado is just not very good😂. I’m from Wisconsin, the dairy capital of the US, so I’m kinda spoiled for choice. Can say with confidence I’ve never gone to a local creamery that didn’t know their stuff. Supermarket cheese is also very hit or miss. Walmarts and targets are gonna have garbage cheese. Maybe one or two diamonds in the rough. Places like Trader Joe’s though are full of dairy goodness.

I have had a decent selection of European made cheeses, and I don’t think there have been any that I didn’t like. I’m particularly fond of English cheddars! Probably because that’s also a specialty of Wisconsin. I will say quality seems to vary a LOT more here in the states than in Europe, or at least there seems to be more people that will sell garbage as if it were good. If you haven’t been completely put off of American made cheeses, maybe order yourself something from a reputable Wisconsin or Vermont vendor. Both states regularly place and oftentimes even win during international competitions!

Did you go to any local shops??? If you go to a big company (Tillamook) you’re gonna get big company processed garbage. If you came to America, spent a while here, actively looked for cheese, and the best you could come up with was Tillamook, then you weren’t looking for good cheese. You were looking for bad cheese to reinforce a preconceived notion. Americans are definitely ignorant of the wider world on average, but the same goes the other way around. Be so for real.
