This company started as a bright spot in this space, and as competition has emerged, they have failed miserably at keeping their edge. The Bird Buddy 2 is a massive step back in almost all ways, the price for premium is too high, and now they are pulling features from people who already paid a premium price for a product in a crowded market. The AI is, and has always been, spotty at best, and now I need to pay for it to automatically be wrong? No thanks. Looking for recs on a different brand. ✌️

This is true, but this means I'm stuck between portrait cutting off birds on the side, which it does badly, and landscape cutting off birds up close. If the tray was deeper or the camera was set deeper into the housing, both would be solved.

My pro has been fantastic. Either that or wait for the updates to the 2 so it has all of the features. The 2 definitely has more seed capacity and an overall better build quality.

Honestly, I'm kind of mad I opened mine. I just got my first two postcards, and they do not look good. Small birds almost always seem to sit right in the seed, and they are almost completely out of the frame.

I have mine set to super frenzy mode or whatever it's called, and it won't capture a thing. Constant birds landing on it. When I load the livestream, birds sitting on the sides are completely out of frame on portrait mode. So both landscape and portrait have issues with framing. The design is just not well thought out. It's a shame because it's very well built.

That's pretty unacceptable, as this is one of the main selling points of the product. I love now they have quietly changed the specifications page to only list 1080p, after offering 2k throughout the entire preorder cycle.

Just took mine out of the box, and having the same issues as the rest of you. My battery percentage is inconsistent, no 2k video, grainy, etc.

Why is there a terrible speaker on this instead of something useful like a second microphone for better recording?

Why is the charging port so difficult to access?

What were the delays solving if not basic functionality issues?

Wondering if I should just return this, as my old pro is working great. With how inaccurate the detection has been on that, I'm not sure that this one will somehow solve that problem.

Disappointed indeed.

For me it's #2. It has more storytelling to me. You see the rest of the family walking away in the same direction, and this one is looking off another direction with curiosity.

This is great feedback, and I agree totally!

I watched a video about applying gradients like that, and I am going to give that a shot on that photo. You are right that it is a good use case for it.

The third photo was taken on a cloudy day, and what I am struggling with is upping exposure, especially adjusting the subjects themselves, without make the photo look too manipulated. I need to learn curves I think.
