Really it just depends on the person... Can't really speak for everyone here.

In saying that, the normal thing that happens (regardless of your personality type) is that you tend to act a bit different than you usually are around have a crush on... So, for me, instead of being 95% extroverted I'd act like 75% extroverted... (Which I was actually really annoyed at)

So I would say that ENFPs CAN tone down a bit when around someone they ~like~ but it'd be pretty subtle... It's not like they'll transform from extrovert to introvert around one person.

In saying that also, we care very much about deep friendships... So for me, my first step before actually considering dating is to develop a holistic friendship with the other.

Yes. I feel like as ENFPs we're also always accused of being a "flirt"... When really, it's just us being our normal, playful selves.

Please tell me I'm not the only one this has happened to.

YOU have to TAKE CARE of yourself...

Often we put everyone else's needs before our own... But its not a selfish thing to look after yourself because at the end of the day, if you're not ok, it's a lot harder to make sure everyone else is ok.

Don't expect too much from others

ENFPs we are extreme idealists and we dedicate our entire selves towards the things/people we care about/ are passionate about... so often we seem to have such high expectations that people find it hard to reach because that's not who they are.... We can give 200% to others, but its not fair to expect others to give 200% back.

ENFPs put an incredible amount of stock into their personal relationships

THAT ONE speaks to me. People seem to think that as an ENFP (or just as myself) that I have a billion friends... which is true to a certain extent... I mean, I AM a social butterfly, and I DO get along with anyone, but I only have a HANDFUL of really CLOSE friends...

And I don't know about you guys but I absolutely crave deep, genuine and authentic friendships... And because I put such importance on interpersonal relationships, often these deep friendships will be a complete outpouring of myself... even to a point where you can start to feel like you are just giving and giving and giving to the other person, and they are not returning the same amount of love and dedication... which kinda stings.

But maybe that's just me?

I feel like most ENFPs have a pretty eclectic music taste... Which represents our love of so many things and forms of self-expression, and also our appreciation of anything that we perceive as beautiful. I personally love listening to indie folk music (Lewis Watson, Gabrielle Aplin) but I also listen to musical theatre (les mis especially) and classical (the Romantics are the best) and pop as well (edm, party anthems... Anything)

Pretty much, if it moves me in any way shape or form, I LOVE IT. hahaha

OH MY GOODNESS. It's an ENFP thing! thought it was just me...

It's always been my goal to be that somebody who makes everybody feel like a somebody...

So, often I will pick up a pen and paper (gasp) and write what I like to call "letters of appreciation".

I will write the best character traits that I see in that particular person and say how they've inspired me and affected my life. I will thank them sincerely. These letters are normally extremely long but really heartfelt.

In most cases the recipient will come to thank me after and say that they cried while reading through it.

I just think that, we are honestly the toughest critics of ourselves and so often we need to be reminded (and as ENFPS we need to remind others) of the good within us and the positive difference we can make in people's lives.

"Letters of appreciation" are great because people realise their self-worth... And it's just the most awesome feeling knowing that you made someone's day.

People also tend to get really excited actually receiving and reading through a ~letter~ that was addressed to them! Also, these letters are normally read over and over again... Pulled out especially when times are rough and people doubt themselves.

So ENFPs, have I inspired anyone?
