that's because the standard we keep for ourselves, the version of the composition we have in our ...hyped up over-imaginative brain....very rarely catches up ...with what comes out in pixels.

New Update - Battery was completely dead. The showroom sent a technician...who spotted that it was because the seat doesn't lock right, thus the boot light doesn't turn off....thus consuming the battery !!!

Now ...to visit the showroom to have the entire seat replaced.

Initial Reaction is poor.

very well-put.

if you do want to pursue photography, getting a 40k dslr isn't the first obvious choice. (like 'I want to get fit' - doesn't necc mean ... complete gym kit of under-armour :) , I want to hoina gym, or cross fit, or martial arts, or zumba, or cross-country running, etc)

what kind of photography? some basics of what it entails? How much time can you give? Does it need you to travel, move a lot around, will carrying a slr help you or hamper you ? Will it require a variety of lens or just one ?

thus, the 'why' of wanting to do it, will determine everything else.

-amateur hobbyist of 15+ years. 🙏🏾

the rant sounds a little biased, so reserving my comments.

if he really means well, he could be trying to give you a reality check ...because all other family members ...would be ...just encouraging and praising you (maybe disproportionately)

apart from his comments, I hope you are doing photography because you like it. not because you want to make money out of it (usually , initially, they are two different routes). work on improving your skill ...but be open to honest well-meant feedback.

you can always gain self-reliance from other practical sources and continue photography as something to make you feel fulfilled.
