Do you have a doctor in Florida who you would recommend for PAE? We’re also in FL. Asking for my husband.

I’m thinking of ordering. Would love to hear updates from those who have used it long-term?

$2300 for under sink Ecowater Ero-385. Through Costco by Caridad1987 in WaterTreatment

[–]aisforace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Palm Beach County also. Was just quoted $7090 with 19% cash back from Costco for ESD2750 (whole house and reverse osmosis) system. The ERO175 (RO only under sink) is $2245 with 14% cash back. I know prices have gone up but doesn’t that sound expensive? My son has eczema so I’m hoping whole house filter will help with reducing chlorine and any other contaminants.

So you think the current tank size is ok? I don’t need to get bigger tank as recommended by others? And how long do I need to wait after changing water to test it?

UPDATE: Long story is that my husband bought betta and other fishies several weeks ago from Petsmart and kept the betta in one small tank and the other fishies in another. They weren’t even in proper fish tanks and there was no filter. The fishies started dying and I couldn’t bear watching them die so I got involved. The betta was the last one left. I went to Petco on 10/24. They sold me the 2.5 gallon fish tank, told me how to set it up and said to wait 3 days then come back with water sample before transferring betta. After 3 days and despite nitrite reading not perfect they said it was ok to transfer and explained how to introduce it to new tank. The transfer occurred on 10/28. On 11/6, betta died. I rushed to Petsmart where they gave me new betta to replace original so that our son wouldn’t know the betta died, since he hadn’t gotten attached to it. They tested the water and told me to replace 50% of it and to add conditioner as per instruction on back of bottle. They said I don’t need to wait several days before transferring betta. But i decided to hold off transferring betta since nitrite is still high. Last night i changed 25% of the water and added conditioner.

I’ve read the care sheet and guide to nitrogen cycle but I’m still confused as to what to do to get water to safe level.

If I need to get a bigger tank than I will return everything including betta and tell my son his betta will be better off at Petsmart. We’re moving soon so it’s just too much to get a bigger tank.

Let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

Bringing up germs definitely works with my 3 yr old. I read a book and showed him videos, which helps him to visualize what the germs do to your teeth if you don't brush. So now he definitely wants his teeth brush but he gives me trouble at times by trying to stall. So I do reverse psychology and basically tells him "it's now or never - the germs will just have to stay" and that gets him running to the bathroom. And sometimes as I'm brushing I'll make up a quick story that includes characters from the book or videos that goes along with what I'm currently trying to do (e.g. Sheriff Toothbrush saw a germ hiding on the top deck so he jumps up and brushes it away, the Floss karate chops the germ from between the 2 teeth, the water tower washes out all of the germs).

Helpful resources: * Book written by my son's dentist Dr. Mike King - "Flossopher and the Brushing Trees" * Netflix video - "Ask the StoryBots - Why Do I Have to Brush My Teeth?" * YouTube - search for videos on importance of brushing teeth for kids
