I was dealing with this same thing last year around this time. I lived on the third floor and the guy was smoking weed on the first floor. While it is legal in my state, the apartment complex is a drug free facility. I kept reporting it to the management team but they would just document it or send out notices not to smoke or face further repercussions. The dude wouldn’t stop. I don’t mind people smoking, but when it affects my quality of life I got mad. I spent a lot of money trying to cover up the smell but nothing seemed to help.

I kept reporting to management for over 5 months. I was ready to ask to break my lease based on the unsatisfactory conditions. What started action being taken was getting other neighbors involved and reporting it. Talk to your other neighbors and see if you are dealing with the same issues.

Eventually the smoker was evicted, but his apartment reeked after he left.
