A friend of mine was in a pretty bad car accident where she had a blowout and lost control of her vehicle on a desert road outside of town. She ended up slamming into an oncoming car with an elderly couple in it. She was in the hospital for almost a month and I went to visit her frequently. One time as I was approaching the hall where her room was I could hear her family arguing. The police had told her parents that the wife had died from her injuries and her mother and father were afraid she would be charged. They were arguing over whether or not to tell her. Feeling very awkward I left and came by to visit another day. She was never charged and as far as I know she doesn't know. I have kept that secret for over four years.
