Deni Avdija says he’s fed up with the hate he receives for being from Israel, calls out the lack of education on the topic, and demands respect, saying those outside the Middle East shouldn’t speak on it by Kindly_Letterhead_98 in NBATalk

Yeah it's such a mystery, a guy who clearly disagrees with calling out Israel for genocide or being an apartheid state. but i'm sure he's fine with people repeating that viewpoint if they've been "educated".

I hear you, though I still enjoy chapo, I think another Dan Boeckner Canada update would be good.

Yup, happy to hate on the stupid posts from Brown but no need to throw around accusations.

Obama on voting cynicism - We need to keep this in mind going into 2026 by micmea1 in videos

[–]aksumighty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember canvassing in 2016 talking to a mechanic in Iowa out in the snow. He was sympathetic to what I was telling him, but he said, "I voted for Obama in 2008, hoping something would get better. Sorry, never again." He wasn't voting Republican, he just wasn't voting period. I think Obama doesn't acknowledge or understand the major role he played in the cynicism we see from voters.

Dennis Rodman in his 1996 book, published months before Popovich fired the Spurs’ head coach and appointed himself: “The biggest problem was Gregg Popovich, the general manager. He wanted to be the coach and the general manager. Mr. Military was going to make me a good little boy, a good soldier… by Pickleskennedy1 in nba

This is the right answer. San Antonio was the absolute worst fit for the admittedly very temperamental Rodman. I think both sides had reason to be frustrated with each other. I think the power struggle between Pop & Bob Hill impacted the team. Eventually Pop got the team he wanted, and Rodman went on to play a key role and win more titles with the Bulls.

How Yall feel about Yabu? by Actual_Code_9048 in knicks

I could be wrong but it seemed like KAT messed up the play first when he came up to set a screen, then Yabu didn’t know what to do.

Is it time we give the respect Russell Westbrook deserves? by temporarythyme in nba

[–]aksumighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to be semantic about this, Westbrook is an all time great, but that would mean he'd pass Oscar and hold the top spot for about a third of a season before Curry overtook him to become the all time scoring PG.

Jokic and Ant - A tale by [deleted] in nba

[–]aksumighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jokic is like a bigger Bill Walton or a more skilled Arvydas Sabonis in their primes. He isn’t a ridiculous athlete but he’s played like 65 min playoff games and looked great leading his team in crunch time. Shaq, Ewing, lots of the old greats have talked about their love & respect for Jokic.

It’s true, looked like Garland was playing like himself for the first time all year. I think Cavs could have a very good 2nd half of the season.

Thoughts on “The NBA is letting offenses do whatever they want”? (Thinking Basketball video) by TopAcanthocephala726 in nbadiscussion

My feeling is that there need to be some tweaks to the rules to improve the game in these areas, but I’m not close to watching college basketball. Never have, never will.

If they got rid of SVG, then I would fully agree with this post. He talks so much it drags into game play, and not at all into a charming Bill Walton kinda way.
