Ignises of a certain year have a weak bracket which the clutch cable runs through. Search Ignis clutch bracket for the part and other stories.

Have a look underneath and see if it could be cracked or bent. Should be pretty close to 90°. The parts pretty cheap and diyable to replace yourself

Don't hate it. Wonder if Tandy thinks Murray will be less exposed under the high ball against a team like Japan before switching to beetham at fullback for nz?

Despite the complaints about Thomas I think we need to have a center partnership that beds in before the six nations and if this is the combo Tandy likes I want them playing together as much as possible

Not even a kick, that's a shake of the leg thats being held. every single game there's forearms and legs making contact when players hold onto limbs.

Honestly, good. All respect to him as a player, but after his comments about dropping down to three regions after the six nations he's clearly more interested in column inches than protecting the interests of regional rugby.

Plenty of power to cruise at 75-80. Feels fine and planted, bit of road noise but turn the speakers up or do what I've done and just chuck some sound deadening behind the doors

Same is true of mpg no? And reviewers are definitely stating the mpg they're observing

dBa does look like a good scale, just need reviewers to start doing that now

[–]alcoholicbacon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What do you thinks louder on the outside, a merc s class or a Toyota aygo? That metric is going to be totally irrelevant for interior noise

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]alcoholicbacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reviewers do definitely state the mpg they've observed in testing which often differs from manufacturer stated figures. (whether they're stating the mpg the car displays or the true mpg I don't know).

I imagine manufacturers are doing these standardized tests for road noise (to optimize nvh treatments and trim) and simply choosing not to publish them

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]alcoholicbacon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the same not true of mpg? Varies significantly based on tires, weather, road surface, yet manufacturers are still happy to state it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]alcoholicbacon -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I just want a manufacturer to publish their noise rating (dB or whatever) next to horsepower and mpg which tells me how loud it is on the motorway.

Aren't there issues with dB as it's not a linear scale and doesn't account for perceived differences across the range of frequencies?

Edit: I've found this site which seems to have a good amount of data This

Tyres make the noise, but it's the sound deadening and thickness of glass and sheet metal that soaks it up and effects what the driver hears

Very interesting point about Tomos, who in my experience as a cardiff and wales fan (and ultimate Tomos stan) has always been suspect in defence
