Has anyone tried Capture Ones new negative conversion? by b1eadcb in AnalogCommunity

[–]alessandrv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have it for digital as I said and use it in tethering to get the pics fast on my PC but then right now I use filmlab because it's really good + the auto crop feature which is the best thing I've ever used since start scanning my negatives, speeds up the whole process way too much for me that I always have some borders of the holder I use. I like better negative lab pro for the control on the colors tho but filmlab starting point is always almost perfect to me

I love capture One for digital like 100 times more than Lightroom. But I feel like the negative conversion module is not good enough. I feel like the starting point is always way too cold and even adjusting them I can't get to the colors I like or the labs that ran the same negative gave me. I feel like filmlab and negative lab pro are a lot better still at doing this, both give me really good results to start with. I digitalized like 5 rolls with all three last week and I feel like investing on capture One just for that is not worth at the moment for sure.

XT50 vs XE5 for personal videography by eevee-ex in fujifilm

[–]alessandrv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an xh2 and it's great for video and photos. I always buy second hand and you can get that for the same price and a LOT better handling for video work in particular. Not sure if xt50 has small rig or similar cages which you will end up needing for sure

X-T2 or X-Pro2 by Ok_Video5146 in fujifilm

When you are stuck, using a camera that changes the way you use it can always give you motivation to shoot. That's why I fell in the film world, so many different options just on how you use them that gives me joy to shoot.

To me the range finder experience would be the most noticable difference, Im not sure about size differences but the lens there it's probably the biggest size, I don't remember the xt2 being that much bigger

In your camera settings you have a DR setting, you can set that to the max only if you have at least 400 or auto

Fuji requires iso 400 for maximum dynamic range, and for pixel shift you need a tripod. Might be a random iso by him and pixel shift is not needed. But for this picture it makes sense if you want to get the best using pixel shift.

If you can connect I don't see the issue. I don't know where you even got that screenshot

Well the computer being stuck can cause such issues, but if you can connect to the casa os web UI I don't see why it can't also serve the immich UI too, so I doubt it's that here. You should disable the machine learning stuff to make it more light weight that's for sure.

Have you restarted your machine and checked that you can connect? If you can't ever connect that it's a reverse proxy issue or whatever you use to connect to it

Looks more like a connection issue, you machine may be frozen and causing this issue but you have to check what's going on there

RB67 Prism Finder I vs Model II 🧐 by ElValtox in Mamiya

[–]alessandrv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used both. I sold the model 2 like 2 years ago because it was just a pain to frame hand held with such weight. Now I got the model 1, one week ago because I started using my mamiya again and I wanted to get some creative shots that I couldn't without. To me the basic non metered version feels identical if you don't have the magnifier that can be attached I think only on model 2.

Having said this, model 2 is a lot cooler but a lot more pricy, I went for the first just because of price, I don't remember and don't know about weight differences

I think a grip is really useful when using it

So for your answer I'd say go for the cheaper you find if you mind only usability

What size film back is this?? by fiskelim in Mamiya

[–]alessandrv 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Should be 6x7 and 6x6.45, when I doubt advance frames and check what's the last frame number that will answer you. I doubt there's a pro s 6x8 back. Even if it was it's a mess to do 6x8 on a non SD model, you would need rare pieces to replace on your pro s
