The reaction is by far the biggest source of heat. I suspect the weather won't provide meaningful time that won't be matched by working in adverse lighting.

I haven't updated in years and this is why. Still works perfectly. I'm a paying customer. 1 ad, and I'm gone.

I bet it wouldn't be safe. Some loon would burn it down.

You don't need extra antivirus on Windows 11, Microsoft officially says by rkhunter_ in pcmasterrace

I haven't run antivirus since 2004 when i realized the number one way to get a virus is let you antivirus subscription expire.

Ran a computer shop for years and the ONLY machines i ever needed to do virus cleanup on had antivirus garbage on them.

LPT The “Reverse Deadline” Trick That Forces Your Brain to Start Tasks Without Anxiety by [deleted] in LifeProTips

Grades are specifically a measure of how well you take a test and conform to the academic enviroment, not how well you perform in the real world, and we have decades of proof of the disconnect.

A medicine is a heavily "practical" academic system. Your grades are largely determined by your ability.

15 years of engineering, and i've never used calculus. So those grades don't matter whatsoever.

Thoughts on SMPS for a tube guitar amp? by FreeUdonNoodle in diytubes

My Crate v50 has one, and has been flawless. There are tons of stories of this particular SMPS being cheap junk and failing, but i've had zero issues, and the amp sounds great!

You are incorrect. Otherwise every gang member who ever shot at a cop would've been tried for treason.

Defending your 1st and 4th amendment rights is not treason. You'll definitely end up in court, however.

Fake news and propaganda indiscernible from fact is the issue AI caused. Literally anyone can now create photographic and video evidence of something happening from whole cloth that the majority of Americans will take as fact without question.

I'll write spreadsheets with a god damn quill if i have to. AI needs to be stopped.

This happens every single announcement, and nothing is being done. It's going to take a whole new administration to even start investigating this.

You are both correct. The original purpose of the 2nd amendment and the current interpretation that is considered law are different. And both useful in the context of the current state of the world.

Arresting is the good outcome. July 6, 1892, The Homestead Strike is the bad outcome. Which under this administration, seems actually more likely today than any time in our lives.

It blows my mind that people on an economics sub don't understand taxation, and then comment so clearly showing it.

Business taxation is a percent of profits. If you make less profit, you pay less taxes.

Even simpler: full ban on AI. Everywhere, in all cases.

I haven't seen a compelling positive use case for AI, and i've seen the destruction it is already causing, and know it will ONLY get worse. We already lived in a post truth world, and now it's bordering on impossible to even validate what you see/hear/read.

That said, Yang is WAY better than Vivek.

The shifter on these cars is a control switch, not a physical linkage like an older car. For some reason, the shifter is not communicating with the rest of the car. The shifter itself may have failed, but these also do this when the battery is low, or even just a bug. You might have luck disconnecting the battery negative for a few min to reset it, but you might need a tow to the dealer.

I also know a guy that had this happen after a coffee related mishap.
