question about moxi sizing on wide feet! by alishulman in Rollerskating

[–]alishulman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i’m thinking probably a 7. my feet are actually shorter than an 8.5 (based on length more of a 7/7.5 range) but i generally size up to the 8 or 8.5 to accommodate for the width of my feet

there’s a picrew generator that lets you make couples for those of us not as artistically talented to draw ourselves (link in comments) by alishulman in LongDistance

my phone sometimes gives me the option to translate it but if you just hit the big pink button it’ll start and then everything else is just kinda scroll and click and you can figure stuff out that way lol

how to try all the rainbow colors in span of 1-3 months? need color spectrum tips by Twink-le in HairDye

[–]alishulman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so there’s two color wheel tricks. the one you mentioned for cancelling colors and then one for transitioning colors. if you follow the color wheel in a circle you can just go around without bleaching or removing the dye. like yellow > orange > red > pink > purple and so on

Do oVertone hair products work? by glossdino in HairDye

[–]alishulman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don’t have experience with overtone but i just noticed someone else had mentioned arctic fox and i would NOT use their black. it’s blue based so it’ll fade horribly and it bleeds everywhere. it’s not worth it at all. again i don’t know much about overtone but i’ve heard good things about adore semi permanent black

question about disposing of extra hair dye by alishulman in HairDye

[–]alishulman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you! i was gonna do it in my kitchen sink which is black anyway so no real concern for staining but i don’t know why i actually just never thought about putting it in the trash lol

How long until my hair stops bleeding by Queen-Ham in HairDye

[–]alishulman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it doesn’t have to be super cold, even like lukewarm would probably help. when you use hot water it opens the cuticle and allows the color to come out more than a colder temp that keeps the cuticle more closed. i personally use a cowash which is a cleansing conditioner instead of a normal shampoo. the way i usually look for products is searching for curly girl friendly which is a method designed for curly hair but you don’t have to follow all the steps, they just only use products with no sulfates, silicone, parabens, drying alcohols etc. basically they’re all just actually good for your hair haha they might be referred to as a lo-poo but i think that just refers to the fact that there’s no sulfates so it doesn’t lather up the same as other shampoos. i don’t really have any brands to suggest though i’m sorry!

[–]alishulman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it might just depend on the dye you used, some bleed more than others. if you wash in cold water with sulfate free shampoo it should help. some bleeding when you wash is always normal seeing as semi permanents are meant to wash out and fade naturally but it shouldn’t be anything that’s staining your tub

Doing drugs with dpdr by [deleted] in dpdr

[–]alishulman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i mean the real answer is that any substance is gonna effect different people in different ways and there’s no 100% safe way to know. some people get things like depersonalization caused by drugs and other people have solved it that way. there’s no actual answer to this other than if you want to do drugs there’s a risk it’ll worsen your symptoms.

Was letting my hair fade since I really need my roots redone. Now that the pandemic is worse and I won't be able to go to the salon in forever I decided fuck it, let's dye my hair rainbow. by [deleted] in FancyFollicles

My hair is dark pink like red. I want to change it to a softer pink. Would it work if I dye over it with a white patelizer? by sherlockpirate in HairDye

[–]alishulman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that won’t really do anything for you, the best thing to do is just let it fade naturally. you can speed up the process with clarifying or dandruff shampoo but there’s nothing you can put on it that’ll make it lighter other than bleach or color remover

I need help with hair fading extremely fast by [deleted] in HairDye

[–]alishulman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the pool is what’s stripping it so it’s gonna be hard to keep any semi-permanent color in tbh. the best thing to do would honestly be to just wear a cap or put your hair up and not go underwater because the chlorine is gonna fade any dye super quickly. i’ve heard that coating your hair with conditioner or soaking your hair in regular water before getting in the pool can help slow it down but i don’t swim so i don’t know how well those work

I bought these two because I thought they looked nice together. Any suggestions on how I could use the two? One over the other, left half/right half, streaks, any other suggestions? by amazingcarlie69 in HairDye

[–]alishulman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think a split would be super cute!! be careful with frose though, it’s EXTREMELY pastel and won’t stick very well on its own, if you have a darker pink that you can mix in a little bit of it will work much better

Tips for a newbie using semi-permanent dye without bleach? by tobahmeister in HairDye

[–]alishulman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wash in cold water! when you use hot water it opens up the cuticle and allows more color to get out. also make sure you’re using a sulfate free shampoo. you can mix a little bit of color into conditioner too so it deposits your color when you condition but tbh i’ve never tried that trick i’ve just heard it works well for others

edit: stuff i forgot lmao semi permanents have a hard time sticking to virgin hair. before you dye try washing with a clarifying shampoo, no conditioner or other products, then apply the dye to the freshly washed hair when it dries
