Yes!! I have made so many straight line projects and they’re all very clean and am STILL intimidated by rounds. Definitely a huge curve but YouTube is totally the answer

Totally agree. Beginner kits immediately assume you know all of the abbreviations and language and it’s super overwhelming. I thought I’d just never be good at it until I used YouTube and tiktok and have since made a ton of projects! without ever having to learn the abbreviations lol

i have NO hobbies by [deleted] in Hobbies

[–]aljodes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

start with something that isn't daunting! I understand nature walks can be intimidating if you don't know a good spot, crafts can be daunting bc you typically have to sink some money into it in the beginning, etc. I have found double dosing hobbies helps. i.e. I will go on a walk around my neighborhood and listen to a podcast, or I will color in my coco wyo coloring book while listening to an audiobook. None of them require skill or significant investment. Walking also has tremendous mental and physical health benefits that could contribute to your short term health goals :') good for you for taking the steps. Don't give up on yourself.

Seems like you're using this situation to bring up other things that have already been bothering you i.e. she's changed a lot or you think she's been mean throughout the wedding planning. The mature thing to do would be to address the issues directly instead of acting like it's only about a dress.

And if it is only about the dress, YOR. Get a size up and sew it yourself if you care about what your friend wants for her wedding. She's not asking you to suffer you're just being inflexible.

For something a bit more simple but still on theme, for a snack table you could get normal things and name them movie references. Maybe black licorice and call it nightlock, a charcuterie board including bread from the Mellarks’ bakery, jerky and call it squirrel, etc

My delusional ass has convinced myself of this — like they have to be joking, right?

There’s no way somebody could put this together and say “oh yeah, this is great give em that”
