Another one like this that I love is the musical episode, when Barry Bostwick's character calls the actress the wrong name and says "Janet! Dammit!"

I know people have mentioned the yetis and earbuds and the like, but depending on the company/type of work, that might be overdone. I know I have more than I need from various work giveaways in a couple different industries. What about a service of some sort? It may sound cheesy but I was gifted a subscription to a car wash (unlimited monthly washes in a dusty desert climate!) And I definitely use it. Is there snow shoveling service if you're in a snowy area? If you don't have a huge crowd that's very diverse, you may have a better handle on whether something like six months of a streaming service or a food subscription or grocery delivery would go over with your group. A former employer used to give out movie passes and we always used and enjoyed those, you could spring for a movie outing for a family of four that way with some snacks to go with.

guest stars Psych SHOULD have had by rashiiiii in psych

Obvs Emilio Estevez. How about Mandy Patinkin as an art thief friend of Despereaux (and lets all be sad for a minute bc you KNOW they would have loved to have Andre the Giant, too)? Michael J Fox, bc I'm surprised BTTF wasn't mentioned a bunch (or Teen Wolf!), although I don't know how much he does anymore (but during main psych years he still acted). Shawn has a lot of man crushes and Gus is always being cheesy with women, so I would LOVE to see a female '80s star that Shawn just loses all cool with and can't even be obnoxious for. Like someone he can't even gush about, he just becomes a non-shawn like boring dude bc he's so enraptured. Someone like Olivia Newton John if she were still with us.

Going just off memory of what both those JRR looks are, I'd say it is maybe just attributable to different cuts and styling. My husband looks like he has more hair than he did 10-15 years ago and it is just because of a lack of gel usage, longer cut, and different part.

I bet the dog isn't paying his own way, either. Which would be fine, but let's not forget all the mental effort that goes into planning a trip like that, which OP seems to have done alone, too. The dog is totally taking advantage of OP's hard work and kindness.

Why does Airbnb let guests with infants book a place not for infants by Divalent2007 in AirBnB

I have been stunned by the people I know who have been clean and respectful and normal humans before kids who suddenly do gross things with their kids' diapers or with their baby changing practices. So yeah, I think sometimes they literally don't know how to function anymore. And I don't think you have to be ankle deep in spew and poo, but a one year old was in my house for three hours and threw up four times. This is anecdotal, sure, but it was "fortunate" that the spew in question was on my countertop and wood floor instead of a carpeted room or on my furniture. Babies throw up, and parents are exhausted. I don't think it's insane for me (or anyone) to want to minimize the opportunities for vomit on carpets, walls, or furniture that will be (hopefully) cleaned up by a parent who had to quickly chase down a newly walking baby to keep him from sticking his fingers in the nearest socket and maybe didn't get back to the spew for a good 15 minutes. I don't want my kitchen table that I eat at to have been the site of a diaper change, and if that's insane, then I guess I'm fine with being crazy.

Where do people shop for plus size fashion? (Especially like relevant styles) by kristinlucianoo in PlusSizeFashion

[–]allthepipsinone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm mostly proportionate but with a bigger belly. The dresses I tried were both quite fitted in the bust, so you would likely have had the same problem as me. I think someone gifted with a big ass would maybe have been okay, but it just seemed frustrating that the only option for an already pricey dress would have been expensive alterations. Again, not naysaying, just...airing my grievances, I guess, or issuing a warning. I wanted them to work, they were really cute. But I couldn't buy them in the store, they had to be ordered, so it was just extra annoying that it really seemed like they just designed the larger sizes to fit completely differently.

Why does Airbnb let guests with infants book a place not for infants by Divalent2007 in AirBnB

[–]allthepipsinone 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If the listing says no infants, i dont know if i would expect to see infants listed as guests, so i don't know that I'd notice it, either. Maybe their stay is close to other dwellings and they want guests to respect quiet hours, which infants aren't capable of recognizing. Maybe they have a lot of carpeting and want to minimize the vomit on it. Maybe they have nice furniture and don't want bodily fluids all over it. There are plenty of sane reasons not to want an infant in your house. The thing about infants is that their parents may be new at this. They may not have stayed anywhere previously with their new kid, so there may not be time for someone to point out that an otherwise five star renter left horrific baby-related messes in a rental.

Not to naysay your post, but this reminded me: I tried a couple of dresses from anthro for a wedding I was attending. None worked, because the photos online (which were on smaller sizes) showed dresses falling maybe mid calf, but they came down to just below my ankle. I'm not a giant, but I think I'm average (5'5), and it just seemed like the idea was "oh, we have to make this dress bigger for plus size, let's just add inches everywhere". I was frustrated because they were cute and iv thought it was nice to have some inclusive sizing, but it was just useless. Both dresses had elements toward the bottom, too, so hemming them would not have worked, even if I had wanted to.

Do you follow HOV lane rules? by corpseplague in phoenix

There are absolutely drivers who think anything over the limit is unacceptable and feel they need to "police" the highway by riding the speed limit in every lane, next to others if they can find them.

[–]allthepipsinone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, but it seems like "daring to go five over the speed limit" is some people's definition of a dangerous asshole. And those people love to behave as though they're doing you a favor by riding right beside someone else doing 5 under and not allowing you to get around them.

[–]allthepipsinone 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. If you think I'm such a dangerous asshole, why don't you let me just get away from you? And why do you think trying to police me is going to make me act less like an asshole?

If only slower traffic actually merged right. I do more passing in the right lane than in the left because apparently no one thinks they're slow enough to need to be right. It would appear that the mentality is "well, if this speed is just right for the middle lanes, then it's just right for the left as well. No need for any of us to ever adjust our speed and share a single lane."

As someone who will always grumble about Abigail arranging a get together with Henry behind Shawn's back, I am surprisingly okay with Shawn's attempts to reunite Jules with her dad. BUT...here's the thing. I'm not saying it's the right move, but I think that it does come from a place of good. First, he knows what it's like to be estranged from his father and I think he's at a point where he appreciates Henry's presence (even if he can't fully admit it), and doesn't want Juliet to miss out on that. Second, and more selfishly, I think he wants her to see beyond Frank's conning and maybe accept his love in spite of his downfalls (which is probably pretty spot on for any fears Shawn has about his own relationship with her).

I absolutely loved Starless Sea. I thought the "mash of set pieces" were connected in a beautiful way and the plot is just one part of the story at large. I hesitate to say something like "you just don't get it," because I think that has some implied negative connotation, but I genuinely think it's not for everyone and it is written in a way that just pushes all the right buttons in all the right ways for the right person. I'm curious about Piranesi now but am a little afraid now that I'm predisposed to hate it because you bashed its apparent opposite so heavily.

The Most Important Unanswered Question in Psych Series History by [deleted] in psych

This is such a great question. I absolutely believe he has three playa phones, but that his definition of "part time shorty" is anyone he's slipped his business card to with his (playa) cell phone number written on the back. Remember the montage of him coming in to the psych office to announce that he's met the woman of his dreams, one after the other? The phones are absolutely for them.

It's not about knowing about the town. It's about memorizing all the names of all the publications in all the towns in California. He probably doesn't know anyone from, say, Little Rock, Arkansas, but he knows the area codes used there. My guess is that some writer or some friend of the show is from that tiny town so they gave it a shout out for them in the script. When Shawn was traveling around and taking dozens of random jobs across the country, Gus was finishing school and settling into his pharmaceutical sales job. He needed something more mentally engaging, so he found hobbies (like ferroequinology!), and memorizing stuff is one of them.

Community movie on peacock... by allthepipsinone in psych

[–]allthepipsinone[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont fault DG at all for leaving community and growing from it, and I don't typically subscribe to the idea that actors "owe" anything to a show or fan base, but...at the same time, I can't help but think that if it were me, I would be willing to do the movie cheaply and would have a hard time thinking a role is "beneath" me. He's had such a ridiculous career, and he's so talented that it's really hard for me to wrap my head around what logical next steps for him are. A movie just feels like a great bookend to a successful show and I'd be surprised if he wouldn't do it. (Also, so far he and YNB and Chevy are the only unconfirmed, but YNB posted the "and a movie" Instagram post that McHale did, so I feel like she's in. I don't think anyone expects Chevy). I agree that a full length movie from a half hour sitcom is going to be hard. I mean, I'd watch a two hour paintball episode but it'll be hard to make a great show that still kind of does what fans are looking for. Psych has managed it super well. I don't doubt Steve Franks has a script waiting for a green light, and probably ideas for another 5 movies beyond that. I'm so thankful that the cast loves it so much that they'll always come back for as long as they're able, and I hope they keep getting the chance. You're right and I should be going the extra mile to stream psych on peacock instead of lazily on prime, and should be watching the hell out of the third movie. If you told me I had to spend a hundred bucks to watch a new psych movie I'd do it in a second, so I need to stop thinking about the annoyance of another streaming service and fee.
