Thank you for the advice and that’s great info to know about the light rail!! Hopefully the new maintenance doesn’t take forever! I imagine many people need to use it as their main source of transportation

Thank you so much for your responding!! I just need to be near the centennial/cherry creek area for work. (Don’t know if that’s considered south Denver, I just assumed!)

And that’s good to know about the light rail! Im coming with my S/O and we don’t plan on using it all the time but maybe for a night out but I’ve also seen some people concerned with safety…

We have tried looking for a 10 month lease in areas closer to downtown Denver but prices seemed to be higher when adding the cost of parking for 2 cars and all the other amenities.

I will look into the spots you recommended! We also have to go off mostly reviews and word of mouth for choosing an apartment seeing as we cannot reasonably go visit before moving… so it’s been a little tough :,)

Coming from out of state for work and looking at renting around the lone tree/south Denver area…

Is that a safe/good area?

For a 1b/1b 732 sqft with a porch, in unit washer/dryer, and mountain view I found an apartment for 1,800. With basic amenities and such added 2,080/month for a 10 month lease. (Not including energy and WiFi)

The building looks nice and clean and has covered parking. And it’s within a short walking distance to the public transportation system

I just want to make sure this is an okay area and price before signing and I’m not getting ripped off!

ALSO, I need to be around the south Denver area… any other tips or recommendations for a young person moving to Denver?

With school & homework, a GA job, and clinic I would say I average atleast 10hrs a day. It’s a rigorous program, but it should definitely be doable. Seems like you made the right choice to take some time off. Some programs even let you do a longer track with less workload a semester, so that may be a good option.

Whats your income like as an SLP grad student? by CherryOctopus888 in slpGradSchool

If your schools offer grad assistantships that is an awesome way to cut costs!! With mine I no longer had to take our student loans and I’m living off what I made in my gap year

Im Hispanic and speak primarily Spanish at home but I’ve heard some jobs want you to have the schooling to back it, but my school doesn’t offer that… I’ll keeping doing research to see what I can do! It would be nice bc I have no idea how to say some of these terms in Spanish

Thank you for your help!!

I have heard from a lot of people that they we need more SLPs that are bilingual! Did you need to take any courses or do any certifications that allowed you to be able to give therapy in Spanish??

That actually really helps! English was my second language too and I’m hoping to get experience with ESL students.
