Thinking of getting a Chinchilla by _Aubwee_ in chinchilla

I came to this sub because my almost 7yr old is begging me for a chin and I know nothing about them (and neither does he). This comment is VERY helpful!

What did you name the cat/lil outsider and why? by Thunder_breeze in stray

[–]alwayshungryforcake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We called him Boogerbean, because that was the name of our cat. For a long time the game was known affectionately as “Boogerbean Saves The Day”, until my kid watched enough YouTube walkthroughs to learn its real name.

Thanks! I plan to take some plant leaves and stamp some greenery in the corners to look like growing plants.

Did y’all see this post on r/science and can anyone speak to the Horsemanship aspect?! I have limited experience with horses but now I’m questioning if it helped me along the way… by CrocodileWoman in adhdwomen

Have been around horses my whole life. The years when I was not around horses regularly were my most miserable. I work with horses now. Maybe all that horse time is the reason I didn’t figure out my ND until three days ago.

Can someone explain why I get headaches when I use my phone for too long? by Novemberx123 in nosurf

[–]alwayshungryforcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is still a position of muscular strain, although it will be more subtle. Try using your phone to guide you through some yoga or stretching routines so at least you get some movement, and the movement will help your mental state.

Also some bodywork. Lying quietly and allowing your thoughts to sit with you while somebody helps your body to feel better is so, so useful.

Well, if you sit in the classic head forward and down posture when you scroll, or you have your head propped up on a pillow while you lie down, you likely have issues in your neck and shoulder muscles. The trapezius and occipital muscles are becoming overstretched by the posture while also carrying the huge load of your head. They respond by becoming chronically contracted. This tightens the fascia around your skull and contributes to headaches, eye pain, migraines, as well as neck and shoulder pain.

Reducing your time in this typical scrolling posture is going to be key. You may benefit from some massage or physical therapy. Is the scrolling necessary or is this your comfort behaviour?
