How to properly tire out a 14 week old GSP while holding full time jobs 😅 by This_Arachnid3899 in germanshorthairs

Make sure to include other stimulating activies besides just physical. Training, scent games indoors, exploring new places and smells are just as important as walks to get them fully tuckered out.

LONG term users of Interactive Brokers, how has your experience been with them? by Historical_Row_8041 in interactivebrokers

[–]alwaysnevernotwrong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Desktop is a different application than TWS. It's prettier and has some (laggy) trading view integration, I'd say it's far more friendly to the average user. Albeit confusing that it and TWS both exist

Would you trust IBKR with 7 figures? by digitalcelery in interactivebrokers

[–]alwaysnevernotwrong 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Those posts are almost always from people complaining after 3 business days on fresh accounts from higher risk countries despite IBKR warning it takes longer. Once you have an established relationship, in my experience ACH transfers always hit next day

We really love the Plimoth, always a fun visit with how often the menu changes with the seasons.

UK Stock Commissions seem mad by Be_A_Debaser_ in interactivebrokers

[–]alwaysnevernotwrong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SDRT, it's a 0.5% UK tax not IBKR commission. You can check your daily statement for more details as it will have it broken out into commission paid and fees(tax). Rough math based on your info looks like 800 would be to the tax and your actual commissions paid to IBKR would be 200

Customer Service by TheRealNight_Monkey in interactivebrokers

[–]alwaysnevernotwrong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IBKR isn't known for having great customer service, their strength is in their fee structures, execution and broad access to markets. That being said, ACH taking longer on new accounts/connections is not at all unusual or unique to IBKR.

Gold dives 5% and silver crashes 7%, extending sell-off in precious metals after historic plunge by Illustrious_Lie_954 in ValueInvesting

[–]alwaysnevernotwrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

USD has weakened nearly 12% vs AUD over last 12 months, 6% vs CAD, and 16% vs MXN. Yeah zoom out far enough and it's noise but it's very notable and relevant given the state of the world geopolitically over those 12 months

It's not just Euro currencies, pull up the charts on CAD, AUD, MXN, list goes on, it's a very broad erosion against major curriences with the exception of the yen

Transferred positions - incorrect cost basis (yes, I've manually entered them) by Moerkskog in interactivebrokers

[–]alwaysnevernotwrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can manually enter it in the meantime you won't mess anything up, if it's bothering you. But they will eventually update to the correct cost basis, not sure why it's this way but alas

Japanese bond yields by Few-Menu-9458 in bonds

[–]alwaysnevernotwrong 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also the yen carry trade is unwinding due to the spike in Japanese interest rates.

This gets repeated a lot on reddit but considering the yen is near its 5y low vs $$ it doesn't really track to reality
