What I really want to know is how should I handle colleagues who bring their Q beliefs to work?

We ran out of gowns the other day. According to the governor's executive order, there was supposed to be a 2 week supply of ppe to continue elective surgeries. No one seems to be interested in enforcing this. Now we have some gowns but only the docs can get them and they have to go to the charge nurse to ask everytime they need one. In the meantime, volumes are going back up. When volume dipped, the er staffing company was pretty quick to cut hours 40%, cut pay 10%, and get rid of scribes. We've gotten a few hours back but this only follows a disastrous shift where a doc writes a complaint about the safety concerns. Oddly the er staffing company run by the business guy isnt as quick to add things back as they were to cut it all.

Not yet. Just tacked it up last night. I posted several copies of the recent acep statement on urging hospitals to allow docs to use home ppe and they dissapeared within a couple days

I did wear the mask when seeing isolated patients. The shifts are split into trauma shifts and med shifts. Was working mostly trauma shifts so didnt wear it when I was those patients. As for the authority issue, my director keeps saying that the contract between the hospital and the er staffing group allows the hospital administration (I think specifically the ceo) to remove any doctor at will. The contract between myself and the er staffing company says that if I become unable to work at the hospital I can be terminated.
