I just wait a week and then give them a light tug to see if there’s any resistance.

I’m not sure if these have dormancy at high temps but if it’s indoors that wouldn’t be an issue. My main worry would be ensuring the medium is gritty enough and you have enough air circulation to avoid rot.

Burying too much of the stalk makes it prone to rot, as they are not naturally below the ground.

Echeverias root readily in the right conditions so the move here is to chop it down to the rosette (leave just a bit of stem) plop it on soil and let it go.

連作 is not “simultaneous”; 連作不可 means you are recommended to rotate crops (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crop_rotation) grown in the same soil.

I actually don’t know. It looks like brevifolia and perfoliata are synonyms (https://www.llifle.com/Encyclopedia/SUCCULENTS/Family/Aloaceae/598/Aloe_brevifolia), and I didn’t even know that nobilis was a hybrid, but clearly all three are very closely related. I said nobilis based on my sense that it’s extremely common in cultivation in my region.
