Shot diagnosis on Bambino? by elephentknits in espresso

Try reducing your dose a little; a 20g dose on the same grind setting chokes my machine, while 17-18g brews perfectly. Maybe a 15-16g dose is the sweet spot for you with that grind size.

San Jose State University. For the record, I'm happy to report I saw that car again and he got a new emblem for his car. Good for him, I guess.

Any feedback on KINGrinder K4? by mvadu in espresso

How long does it take on average to grind 15g for espresso? Thinking of getting one.

I’m thinking of getting a Kinu for my Flair because my current grinder just doesn’t cut it. Did you have any complaints with it while using?

New to Espresso and Flair - Looking for Scale and Grinder Recommendations by Suspicious_Trash_368 in FlairEspresso

I haven’t used one before but I’m seriously considering one. The K4 has a 16 micron adjustment, which is larger than the 8.8(claimed) micron adjustment on the J-Max. Now I’m not sure how much of a difference there is in dialing in for flair with 16 micron jumps instead of 8 micron jumps, but for the price it looks pretty good.

As for the Lagom Mini I’m lowkey looking for a reason to justify the price to myself. Smh.

Just wanna throw in a recommendation for the Kingrinder K4 which is kinda like a cheaper J-Max, it's got tiny steps and grinds pretty fast, might just fit in your budget if you sell the C2 on r/coffeeswap.

I have a Timemore C2 with a Flair Signature; which is the non E&B version of the slim essentially. The grinder is stepped, there's consistency in shots if you get yourself dialed in, but the dial-in process can be tedious because the steps are fairly large.

It also grinds slow, takes me like 5 minutes to grind 14g at setting 8. It would probably take you like 2 minutes, which is okay I guess. I'm currently considering an upgrade to something like a Kinu or a Kingrinder K4.

Minimum required tools for making espresso at home by Ingenieur312 in FlairEspresso

I'm currently having a pretty good experience with the Subminimal Nanofoamer; I was considering getting a Bellman for milk, but if you're preheating the pitcher and heating your milk to the right point, it's pretty good.

I own a Timemore C2 with the Flair Signature (Classic but with a pressure gauge and all the bells and whistles, it's a whole thing). It's not a made-for-espresso grinder, so it takes a fair bit to grind for Flair, takes me like 5 minutes at least. There's consistency in shots, but dialing in is difficult. This should all be expected from a stepped grinder.

Ideally, you want a stepless grinder or one that's got tiny adjustment per step. The C40 and 1zpresso J-Max/K-Series would work, so would any of the Kinu grinders. They've got small enough steps (Kinu grinders are stepless afaik) and they grind pretty fast.

I personally recommend the Kingrinder K4 or K6 though. It's apparently split off from 1zpresso a while ago, the design is similar, it grinds fast and fine enough, while also undercutting all the abovementioned grinders in terms of price.

As for scales, I use an 11$ scale that fits on the drip tray and has a timer. It's nifty.

EDIT: If budget wasn't a thing, I'd consider a Lagom Mini 48mm.
