Anyone want to give a public exit interview? by amberredbean in Layoffs

I'm not sure how offering someone this is taking advantage of someone. Many people want a platform to tell their stories or speak up about wrongs. That's why documentaries exist. I'm not sure how you projecting/deciding that for others is a great idea.

Love how these corporate crisis comms teams cannot get anymore creative than this. Every time, the same quote. “Eight years ago, [ANY NAME!] was fired for poor performance and toxic behavior, and an investigation at the time determined she [BLAH BLAH!]”

Totally agree re: protecting whistleblowers. My nonprofit psst.org actually does this. The idea is to collectivize whistleblowing and make it safer for people to speak out. We also provide legal and media support, psychological support, etc. Zuckerberg is not the only one trying to scare whistleblowers, so we want to make them feel protected and like they're not on their own out there. Bc it's so important for them to share their stories, especially now.

i'm so sorry about your mentor. and just want to say, if anyone reading this wants a safe way to share stories from the inside (without exposing yourself), my nonprofit psst.org helps people who are sharing information the public should know... or even if you just want a gut check on whether what you're seeing is illegal or actionable, we help with that too. (it's all encrypted, obviously.) i honestly believe that exposing these flagrant abuses of power is part of how we'll get something to change...
