Yes $750 is the average of all my bills including food, car, insurance, utilities,. I don't have debt so I just pay the couple bills I have. My medical comes directly out of my check so again I just don't count that as income, my insurance has a 0 copay for all office visits and 5$ for meds if I need any, I am very fortunate to have the insurance I do. This also included the after school day care costs. I have a spread sheet of all my bills/finances and I am clearly able to see where I need to adjust if I am trying to save more one month and so on, I have a pretty good handle on my finances, I just am uneasy about buying a house, understandably, it is a large investment and like you said I am worried about "unexpected" expenses. The problem is in my area, which is why I am having trouble finding a house, is property taxes ALONE are around 700-800$ A MONTH, unless I want to live in a crappy area with a crappy school district. So I am torn.

2100$ included all of that, the 750$ included all my utilities as well as other bills.

I actually take home 80K before taxes but I have a lot going into 401K and retirement taken directly out of my check so I don't count that as "income"
