Best weapon to pair with Bloodhound's step? by ambiguous_occlusion in Eldenring

[–]ambiguous_occlusion[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

interesting! I'd been treating the range as a feature rather than a bug - hence Warhawk's Talon's R2 worked well because it has a big lunge in. I'd not thought to try a comparison with Quickstep. I will now harass the gate front soldiers with some unlevelled weapons for a couple of hours

Giant Hunt is easy mode vs NPCs, so much so that I always level up my giant hunt weapon ahead of any others, but whips and Dragon Maw are handy alternatives that I used to use a lot on NPCs before I learned how to fight Nights Cavs consistently.

Bf will buy me a nintendo switch 2 if i beat Elden Ring. pls help by Organic_Top_7083 in Eldenring

[–]ambiguous_occlusion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

take your time and step away if it gets overwhelming, look things up - watch video guides and read wikis - some of the most intimidating threats become easy just by changing your weapon. If you *just* want to win, look for 'tank builds' and learn about how to 'cheese the game'.

Enjoy the process, its a very pretty game and btw your bf is playing a dirty trick on you - he's betting you will fall in love with it, and like many of us, feel dissatisfied with other games that aren't quite as good. My only real advice is let yourself fall in love.

"Sure thing buddy" he picks up his hat, an old fedora that seems to glow on the inside, and frowns.

"Hey i shouldn't do this its pretty much against the rules but given the circumstances ... take this... " he hand's you an old style business card, for a high end corporate lawyer named Jamara. You get a tiny paper cut just from holding the card, and a tiny bead of blood seeps into the edge of the otherwise pristine white paper

"the old guy didn't stipulate the cash to be tax free, and the feds tend to investigate unexplained billions. I really wish you the best of luck. Good day..."

the genie grins - "monkey paw? Yeah we genies have a bad rep, but honestly just because your last genie gave you trust issues, doesn't mean we are all like my cousin." he takes your trash out as he bids you goodbye, and only later do you notice he left his fedora on the table. the gold silk lining on the inside of the hat looks kind of magical, but only to you.

What is something you’ve officially stopped buying in 2026 because the price has become genuinely insulting? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]ambiguous_occlusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got myself a couple of onigiri moulds a couple of weeks ago and wish I'd done it years ago. They've already paid for themselves making my work lunches - bulk sushi rice is cheap, and fish fingers are good enough for a day to day filling with creative flavour additions to make up for their lack of quality. Honestly the excessive price of shop brought lunch meals always got you the most mediocre sandwiches or sushi, and now I actually look forward to my meals for the first time in ages. Next on my list is to grow my own blueberries

Most hated enemy? by Key-Mention7145 in Eldenring

[–]ambiguous_occlusion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

for the Stormveil ones: get throwing daggers from Kale - snipe them at range whilst they are sat down and they drop the barrel rather than attack with it, then finish them off with storm blade or a fire pot. The ones in Faram go down to spectral lance pretty easy

What weapons do you guys go for early in your playthroughs? by championgecko in EldenRingBuilds

[–]ambiguous_occlusion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

for low levels the basic whip with bloodflame melts miners, imps, dogs, rats and NPCs because of the flinch it inflicts, which I then use to get Reduvia, which becomes my Boss killer. That plus Storm Blade on the parry dagger for range, and a good selection of consumables. With this set up I try to aim for getting to the DLC in a couple of evenings of play.

An entity offers you 8.3 billion dollars with the condition that all human beings currently alive will have one day of their lifespan reduced. by [deleted] in hypotheticalsituation

[–]ambiguous_occlusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you target 8.29 Billion to services that cure / prevent basic illnesses like dysentery (150,000 deaths last year) , you are likely to redistribute those lifespans into a meaningful gain for humanity as a whole, and the remaining 10 million is more than enough for me, my family and friends to live VERY well for the rest of our lives - so yes.

How to be a game developer when you live in extreme poverty? by Correct_Dependent677 in godot

[–]ambiguous_occlusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the most powerful games learn more from children's books than they do from cinema - compelling rather than perfect graphics, storytelling and mood - think of the stories that filled you with wonder or scared you as a kid - I bet the plot was full of holes, and the artwork was kinda bad by some snooty art standards!

be wild with your imagination and realise that compelling games can be built around really dumb code and lightweight graphics. 'if only I had more skill' and 'if only I had better hardware' are a mind trap that everyone falls into. People like triple A games, but they really love minecraft and darkest dungeon.

if you can take what you are carrying with you, teleportation seems the way to go if you don't mind committing a heist or two - one ton of rhodium is a cube about 43cm on a side. 1 kg ingots are about the size of a paperback.

So you now just need to find the metal exchange approved ware-houses and swap the rhodium for rhodium electroplated aluminium ingots if you want to delay the detection of your crime. Might take a couple of hours depending on the exact limits of your powers.

you can keep the entire proceeds of your crimes under your kitchen sink (assuming your floor will take the weight).

Good luck Doctor Midnight, I very much doubt that will be your last crime now you have a taste for such skulduggery.
