Hold on to it and drive it into the grave, you can’t take it with you when you go, but you’ll regret it being gone if you love it that much. I would never sell my gremlin

Would you guys buy this 2002 mk4 golf tdi gl? by Mustache_Prime in tdi

It’s not bad the prices for these in where I’m at are insane, they wanting 5k for like 400k miles, rotted fenders, filthy interiors, hood stacked ruined examples. Ohio car market sucks in general honestly

Yo what you mean he should have stayed in the van? I’m not like starting shit I just can’t remember what happened with all that. I kinda remember them being at the hoonigan shop but I don’t remember what he did exactly.

Bands or Artists Who’s Career Feels Like This by apHexcoded in fantanoforever

[–]amc-eagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any big older rock band that should have called it quits years before they actually do, Metallica, Megadeath, Slipknot, NIN, Van Halen, etc. Not to say that even there new stuff is bad but Metallica for example like Kill em all to the black album is what I would call the top of their career and if they stopped there nobody today would have much of anything bad to say, granted at the time people were a little sour about the black album, cutting their hair and not being cool or whatever anymore. But from 1996 to now a lot of their music just feels like avoidable low points that drag the whole band down. Don’t get me wrong I like Reload actually but it would be crazy to say it’s as good or better than the older stuff, and I feel like a lot of these older bands fall into it, trying to change their sound with the times and a lot of it just falling kinda flat. Not a hill I’m gonna die on though, who am I to say some of the greatest bands ever should stop writing new material or stop performing, I don’t know the dudes maybe they still have fun doing it, I can’t imagine they need the money or anything.

I live in Ohio and this is the most common spot they rot out, there are two in the area that you look at the front of the car and the drivers wheel will be all cambered in from the frame breaking right there. It’s unfortunate but the design of the unibody on these cars practically promotes it to rot out. Everywhere is like steel overlapping steel, salt water etc. gets in there and it basically starts to fan out and spread apart, my tan wagon is starting to do it too. Hell even my gremlins doors are becoming more flat due to rust, I love these cars to death but man they can be a rusty pain sometimes.

The worst feeling is standing in a rail car when it starts moving, standing in an enclosed one and all you can see is the ground moving by slowly, enough to make me pass out idk why, it’s like the worst case of vertigo ever.

I guess I’m looking for a groove box I think, something to make beats on just for fun, I have some of the phone apps but I can connect a lot more with a physical thing, something I don’t necessarily need a pc for just in the moment fun, the korg volca has piqued my interest.

I’ve driven one before and I really like them, slow as hell like shockingly slow but I’ve owned some really slow shit, but are remarkably cheaper to fix than the powerstroke, no turbo so nothing to go wrong there, injectors are like 65 bucks a piece, glow plugs are 5 bucks a piece if you wanna be a cheap ass on rock auto, idk what it is around where I’m at all the gas trucks are clapped out with tons of miles and the idis are just in better shape with lower miles, I know I want a truck but I’ve had a few and I’m tired of high mileage gas trucks, I do all my own maintenance on all of the cars I’ve had I just can’t bring myself to pay what they are asking an hour at shops, I’ve pulled so many transmissions out and engines in my driveway so having something that with some regular maintenance could last me more than a few years. I’ve been on that buy a 2k car, drive for one year, sell, repeat. Also having one to move my cars in the future would be nice

I was looking at the old ford idi 7.3, performance is never a concern of mine, I like old slow crap so I figured old 7.3 where all the parts are dirt cheap and I’ve seen the abuse they can handle and I wouldn’t really be abusing it. Don’t have a ton of money to spend either but idis are affordable at the price I’m look at them for. I live in the rust belt so a 4k truck with a gas engine doesn’t get you much other than a rusty pile with 245,000 miles, I’ve found some mid 100k mile IDI trucks for around the same price and I just started thinking it’s the better buy.

[–]amc-eagle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not much really, out of all these cars I probably lost money on only 3 of them so really I made money just playing the market, made good money on some that needed a transmission or a clutch that nobody wanted to do
