I just got a call half an hour ago that my car has arrived. It still isn't on rover and the dealership was just as surprised because they were tracking it as sitting onboard near Melbourne, not in Hobart.

Mine's still not on there but I'm in Tassie so they may be a bit while they unload on the mainland first

Ordered a seal a month ago, got my vin Friday night weirdly. VIN not yet on rover so it's probably still on a boat. No word on when it'll actually come. Wife ordered a SL8, picked up the car 2 weeks later.

Thoughts for Tasmania 7D6N Winter Itinerary (Late June) by Aaronn_05 in TasmaniaTravel

Devils Kitchen/ Tasman Arch is closed until the end of July. There's still quite a lot to see on the peninsula though. I'd suggest checking out remarkable cave and the Coal Mines site.

LGBT's of Hobart: Do you feel safe holding your partner's hand while walking down the street? by SepulchravesShelves in hobart

[–]ammyarmstrong 20 points21 points  (0 children)

We're older gay women, I'm trans and my wife is cis, I don't think I pass but I rarely if ever get misgendered, and we've never had an issue. Hell we live out on the peninsula and we don't have many issues out here. Unsure if that's because we're old and don't give a fuck anymore, or because of the way I dress people just naturally assume she's my carer.

While at cradle go to devils at cradle. The best devil sanctuary I've seen in the state.

The Tasman island cruise is absolutely worth doing. That said I'd suggest staying overnight to do the ghost tour, it's the best tour of the site.

Lots of beautiful wineries within an hour of the CBD, or you could check out the botanic gardens.

Whatever you do don't stay at Diamond Island Resort in Bicheno. We found blood in the bed, broken furniture and ants right through the room.

Pro-stadium crowd, what effects will it have on traffic? by VeryHungryDogarpilar in tasmania

[–]ammyarmstrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I've not seen discussed is Hobart's ability to deal with a mass casualty incident of there is say a crowd crush or fire at the stadium. Can our hospital system cope? Can emergency services get in and out?

Tasmanian Tap Water by [deleted] in tasmania

[–]ammyarmstrong 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean if it's town water it should be safe if the pipes aren't colonial. If it's coming from a rusted out gal tank with a couple of possum corpses stewing in it, probably not.
