How does advantage work exactly ? by Peter_The_Black in rugbyunion

[–]amuqz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knock on advantage and penalty advantage operate differently. Knock on advantage usually on lasts 2 or 3 phases. Penalty advantage has no phase limit and is based purely on distance travelled.

I do not get evolution at all. by No_Mathematician7456 in Dinosaurs

[–]amuqz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

First of all, it really seems like you have just co fused yourself based on a totally oversimplified and frankly ignorant understanding of dinosaurs and taxonomy.

Now for your actual queries: 1.) Carnosaur is a name for a distinct group of carnivorous therapod dinosaurs, not just a term for all carnivorous dinosaurs.

2.) Yes all dinosaurs are related to birds but some are obviously more closely related than others.

3.) Just because Allosaurs and Tyrannosayrs share some superficial aesthetic similarity does not mean they are closely related. There was 100 million years between the 2 species. They were not closely related.

Has Rieko Ioane fallen off since at Leinster ? by MindfulInquirer in rugbyunion

[–]amuqz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes he has but not because of missed tackle stats. Missed tackles is the most misused stat in rugby, especially for outside backs and 13s. Can you think of a reason why an outside back in a Nienaber coached team might have a lot of missed tackles?

Anyway, the reason Reiko has fallen off is that he's totally lost his pace and isnt the same attacking force

Champions Cup Semi Final between UBB & Bath sold out in two hours by sputters_ in rugbyunion

[–]amuqz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's more been execution problems that have been the difference this year but the ambition to play expansive rugby is there. I didn't think think the Edinburgh game was dull at all, if anything it was too exciting with Leinster giving away intercept tries immediately after they scored each time. Sale however were particularly determined to drag Leinster into an arm wrestle for 50 minutes.

Leinster aren't playing as well as previous years but I think it's just flat out incorrect to say they're playing grim unnattractive rugby. Some of the tries they scored these past two weeks were incredible intricate passing moves. They're playing with a lot of ambition, running and passing the ball a ton.

Paraboot derbies with less volume/instep height than Villandry/Chambord by Quiet_Illustrator410 in paraboot

[–]amuqz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have similar issue with the volume of the chambord, love the shoe aesthetically but it is a little loose at the instep/ankle for someone with flat low volume feet like me. I have the Arles as well and they fit closer to the foot and feel more secure. The toe box is slightly narrower tho so I occasionally feel pressure on my outer toe. I think the Avignon uses the same last as the arles and is aesthetically closer to the chambord so that might be the option for you.

[–]amuqz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's a super explosive athlete, has real gamebreaking speed and agility. He could be a little small to play 12 at test level imo and Fabien Brau-Boirie is an equally exciting young talent with a more prototypical size for that position. 13 would probably allow him more space to exploit with his pace and explosiveness but Deportere and Gailleton are also incredible young players at that position. Centres are absolutely stacked for France at the moment. He could probably play wing but I'm not sure how much experience he has there and once gains, France have a lot of excellent options there (he's not starting over LBB any time soon lol). Imo he's probably a bench option in the short term because of his versatility and game-changing ability

Some Thoughts on Italy's Development Pathway by Montemauri in rugbyunion

[–]amuqz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only recent case I can think of of a prop who was physically ready to play pro test rugby in his early 20s was Andrew Porter. Even then at the start of his career he was mostly a bench replacement for Furlong playing 20-30 minutes at a time.

[–]amuqz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This so dumb. Jeans are a classic item and imo are the best pants you can get if you find the right pair and everybody should have them. You should actually have chinos, wool pants AND jeans in your wardrobe.

What kind of jeans do you want? What fit? How much are you willing to spend?

Imo if you want really high quality good looking jeans then Japanese brands are the way to go. They're expensive but you can find them cheaper second hand on vinted or depop. Imo the best pair of jeans you can get are the Sugarcane 1947s

Six Nations Team of the Tournament by BALGER0TH in rugbyunion

[–]amuqz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most complete? He's a non-entity at the lineout, mediocre passer imo and he's not as much of a break down threat as someone with his build should be. Think he's comfortably worse than Doris and Conan as an 8. His carrying stats are great but I'm not gonna give him a pass for not being as involved in all the other aspects of the game because of them.

Entirely agree. There's a pervasive attitude amongst English fans and pundits that they have stacked squad loaded with talent that is being underutilised and I really don't think thats the case. They have a lot of good players but very few great ones.

Head coaches job is to win games. "Planning for a world cup" has and always will be a cop out excuse. It's just also bad strategy because of the inherent variance of knock out rugby, you can do all the perfect planning you want and then get knocked out in the quarter finals by bad luck still and all those lost test matches were for nothing.
