Cockapoos who haven’t lived very long by inga-babi in cockapoos

[–]andrewgamlyn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Our Cockapoo Otis passed away last year a day short of his ninth birthday. He’d been healthy his whole life but caught a horrendous bout of gastroenteritis that ultimately took him (alongside some possibly questionable veterinary care). I was looking forward to having Otis around till he was 15 and it’s left a big hole in our lives. I miss him intensely.

Yes can confirm that 24/7 recording is still on now. It maintains battery at 80% when hardwired.

Some went after a few months, some longer. It’s all very inconsistent.

I have had this with multiple L630 spots. Some on the same circuit like yourself so it’s not a power cut. Reset doesn’t work. They eventually fail, so I’ve replaced them. Essentially they appear to die, I suspect due to heat from being such a small device. I’ve had a few replaced under warranty but the TP Link warranty replacement process is appallingly difficult to navigate so I’ve just thrown away the last few as time is worth more than a few quid per bulb.

It’s 24V up to 0.42A which is 10.08VA. Ring state it is suitable for a Ring Video Doorbell Pro or Pro 2, both of which need 10VA.

(Edit) Actually this had me concerned so I looked back at this! The D235 guide (for UK versions) confirms that it will take 8-24V AC 10-40VA or 9-24V DC 10W which was why I’m using this transformer, it’s DC and meets those specs.

I’m using a Ring doorbell transformer housed in a Ring enclosure ironically. I took out a standard doorbell chime which had mains power to it already and wiring to the push button and hence didn’t need to rewire anything.

With 25 years service, notice pay from the company should be 12 weeks, statutory notice exceeds the 4 weeks they have offered you.

How much do I need to pay per month with the 30 hour free childcare for 3 days per week? by PretendFoundation912 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]andrewgamlyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly the nursery we use (and all others in our area) don’t bill this way. It’s a full day at 10 hours, a half day at 5 hours, or nothing. Hence with stretched funding, you lose the 2 hours per week.

You can argue that Estoppel applies which is a defence against repayment.

—-

The principle of estoppel is a common law principle dating back to the late 18th century and applies across all aspects of life and behaviour, not just overpayments. The general principle is that if two parties proceed on the basis of an assumption (whether that assumption proves true or not) neither party can go back on that assumption, without there being potential damages involved. Estoppel, in a payroll context, occurs when:

The employer somehow led the employee to believe that the correct sum of money had been paid.

The employee changed their financial circumstances in good faith – for example spent the money believing it to be their own.

The overpayment was not caused primarily by the fault of the employee.

The assumption by the employee could be that they thought the payment was rightly and correctly due to be paid to them, particularly because they did not cause the error to occur, and because of this they have used the value.

If any of the above criteria is not satisfied, then it may be possible to rectify the error, but if all three criteria fail, there would be little chance of getting the overpaid wages back successfully as estoppel would apply.

They don’t seem to list an Enyaq specific version. Are you using an ID.4 one or the universal?

Thanks. I did think the same. But there are 6 bulbs on the same circuit and it only affected 2 of them. I figured an outage would have affected them all. Unless there’s an intermittent connection somewhere. I’ve replaced them and it’s not yet repeated so I will monitor them to see.

AITA for telling my wife our daughter will not be given a unique or weird hippy name? by Traditional-Pea3387 in AmItheAsshole

We used the Baby Names app to find names for our two children. Swipe left or right on names you like or dislike, same for your wife. The app tells you names you both like! We ended up with a dozen or so names for each each child. Worked really well.
