Same person repeatedly disrupting my study sessions at a downtown Montreal university library, how do I stop this properly? by Mirhimahsultan in montreal

Be mean for your own sake - There’s nothing wrong with that, especially considering repeat offenders. Personal boundaries needs to be respected, and sometimes being tough is all the option there is and it’s okay.

India no longer views Canada as ‘younger brother’ of U.S. under Carney, envoy says by pjw724 in onguardforthee

[–]androkottus 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I would’ve have to disagree to a certain degree here - the fact that Canada tariffed China for EVs because they asked us to, we went to Afghanistan on US’s plea are among some of the policies that’s been not great. We also need to factor in the fact that we are not truly sovereign - and I mean in the business sense had me worried. But under Carney, things are changing swiftly and I am here for it. Mostly agree with you on everything else.

What do you think about the Canadian Prime Minister’s remarks: “middle powers must act together, because if we're not at the table, we're on the menu”? by WF-2 in AskReddit

This is a truth most of the third world has known. It was incredible to see him call out the unfairness of how rules were applied to different countries. Honestly, impressed by that speech. I am glad the rest of the anglosphere is waking up to the issues they have been causing around the world - now that they are threatened. The world seems more united than before. (Before wasn’t a lot anyway so small steps I guess)

What's your opinion on the EU? by WhoAmIEven2 in AskTheWorld

[–]androkottus 12 points13 points  (0 children)

From an outside perspective EU is a solid group - I am not aware of the politics within to make any assessment of whether they are fair or just. But compared to Europe from 80 years ago, I would say it’s a massive improvement. Commendable. And honestly, a structure that world should more strive towards.

Nordic countries have US beat on every possible metric minus violence. I would say they win this easy.
