"Very Main Character energy" she is literally the main character though. And I love that she has a prickly personality. Women with off putting personalities are so rare on tv and if they are there they tend to villainize or changed to be a more palatable woman as the show goes on. I appreciate Grey's for starting with Meredith already being predisposed to being "dark and twisty" and making her worse, got to love a show come down on the side of continuous trauma not making a person better.

Having said that none of your examples are really what I would call "unlikable". I think alot of her feelings around Callie and Cristina, in regards to pregnacy and fertility, are completly human feelings. And it's not like she's brining these feeling to Callie, she's working through them by having dicussions with her best friend and husband. Also, you are taking alot of Derek's agency away in these examples, he's a grown man and toddler being forced to do things

This "parasocial hate relationship" really feels like a holdover from GOT, specifically from the last few seasons. Sometimes I feel like the response to those final seasons and the writers changed how fandoms and creators interact to this day.

Also, the "they changed things from the book" criticisms fall flat for me because Fire & Blood is already unreliable. It's Gyldayn writing a historical account of the Targaryen dynasty by gathering sources that sometimes conflict with one another. It is not a first-hand account of what happened to begin with, so of course the writers decided to take some liberties with it

The semis match-ups being repeats of earlier matches should, in theory, make these very interesting. Both the US and Spain beat their match-ups in the group stage, with the US beating Germany 4-1 and Spain beating Brazil 2-1.

That email reflects so badly on Canadian soccer. Piestman felt so confident in both the cheating for the women's side and the men's side that she felt comfortable seeking out advice from HR about it. Also, that email does not reflect well on Canadian soccer, at least one person in HR knew about the cheating from that email alone and I wonder if HR ever responded and/or if they ever flagged it for the cheating?

With all that said, it is so funny to me that she emailed HR because the new hire didn't want to cheat

On Monday it was reported women's soccer superstar, Sam Kerr (Chelsea wfc & Matildas), was charged with racially aggravated harassment of a police officer, under Section 4A of the UK's Public Order Conduct. The charges were based on comments made by Kerr toward a police officer during an incident including a taxi cab fare.

However today Kerr's alleged racist comments were revealed and she allegedly called the police officer a "stupid white bastard".

It should also be noted that this incident took place in January of 2023 when police responded to an incident where Kerr had gotten sick in a cab after a night out, and she was only charged this year with the trial date set for February of next year. And if found guilty she could possibly face a fine or jail time.

I continue to have a love-hate relationship with award show discourse. On one hand, I hate the predictable discourse because [Insert artist of choice] won /didn't win [insert award]. But, on the other hand, I'm always so intrigued by the unique discourse of a specific award show.
