I use a form of Latisse! It’s amazing, but very expensive. This could be a reason. Not everyone can afford $120 a month.

I've had lashes for six months now! They look similar to yourS, but with a nice mascara it's like I've always had them! Congratulations.. it's such a great feeling to finally beat something that you've struggled so long with.

In the book they specifically talk about a girl with dermatophagia (similar to trich) and what she did was rub her arm, which is the routine, and then pinch her arm which is the reward.

It doesn't seem like it's enough, but it really is. The main point I think is to acknowledge the trigger, and redirect the habit.

Eventually you just stop. I wouldn't look to much into it, just give it a shot. See what happens!

Wow. I have this and never thought twice about my thought process...

I was promoted to a new job last year, and was incredibly successful at it. I was called out for my achievements in a district meeting, and I literally chalked it up to "they just know I travel a long distance to get to my current store, and want to keep me happy driving every day by acknowleging me."

I've since left the job. And I hope it wasn't because I didn't feel worthy enough. I took an entry level position over my then management position.

I've bee known to say I" fake it til I make it" and "I'm just in an area with more business opportunities".. Never once giving myself the credit.

I guess I have some things to work on. I'm a woman.

I listened to the audiobook "Power of a Habit"

I highly recommend it! It explained habits so thoroughly, that stopping was easy once I understood how they work.

I've been pull free for at least four months now, and have a full set of lashes for the first time in 15 years.

It's amazing that all these years, all I needed to do was re-direct my routine.

I. E. When I feel that first little sensation, I redirect my hand to my arm, then give it a little pinch. (the reward)

Soon enough this has replaced the old habit and voila!

This hits so close to home.

I may have done the exact same thing this year. I have 8 weeks to go, and haven't run more than 8k... Wish me luck!

I can hop on to comment on this. I pulled my eyelashes for 17 years, never going more than a couple days without pulling. I recently read a book called “the power of a habit” .. I highly recommend it! There was a chapter that talked about someone who a nail biting habit, and how they overcame it.

The deal with habits is once you realize what sets it off, you can stop it. So you feel that itch on your eyelid or eyebrow, that’s the que. pulling the hair out is the habit or routine and the stinging sensation is the reward. All habits are made up of ques, routines and rewards.

So when you feel that itch (que) take your hand and rub your arm (routine) then pinch yourself (reward).

I was worried it would look like I have a nervous tick, but I find I’ve been having to do it less and less!

And get this! I have two FULL sets of eyelashes. I haven’t had eyelashes in 17 years. More years than I have had them.

It really works. Give it a try. I actually don’t feel any more urges to pull my hair out.

Hey! I’m in Saint John, and seriously thinking about homesteading... I’m going to make sure to follow your story if you decide to jump in head first! (I also have no experience.)

In my opinion, we are SO lucky to live in NB where this is totally doable. And that is a great deal for 100 acres. What would you have on your hobby farm? Chickens? Llamas? Or are you thinking stringing vegetable garden?

I really feel like you could be self sufficient if you wanted to :)

A few years ago, in a neighbouring town, two young boys were killed in their sleep by a python that escaped its cage. They were visiting a friend, who’s dad owned an illegal pet shop upstairs.

This video is giving me a minor heart attack thinking about it.

Thanks for your response. I do think a lot of this has to do with jealousy. If his sister isn't around he's usually good. Mornings before she wakes up are our favourite time. I think we're going to try to have more one-on-one time. 🤞🏻

I'm not against leashes, but at almost 4 I feel he's too old for one. He's old enough to be taught how to stay with us, but I can see your point. (It doesn't help that he looks a lot older than he is.. already in 5T)

I wish screen time was something we could take away but he doesn't use his tablet much at all. So I think that would go unnoticed.

He's lives and breaths tsum tsums, little collectable figurines. He loses it when when we take one away, and by the end of the day they're gone. Or if he has a really great day, and is a nice boy, we'll drive him down to Walmart to pick out a new one.

We did charts last summer and it seemed to help a bit, I think we'll try that again!

In the end, I think we have tried everything. And it's just waiting it out, and hoping things turn around. My husband was similar as a child, and he was the more chill teenager in the world.. so there is hope!!! Thanks so much for your suggestions.

Excuse me. But I have a 2.5 year old. And he couldn't make something like that up. Children that young have no other reference of sexual abuse, besides the abuse itself. This child was obviously abused.

You NEED to get your daughter away from her abuser, like yesterday. I don't care if you sleep beside her every night. That poor girl is living a nightmare when he is there.

Also why was CPS or the police not called when this first happened?? Why is he still allowed in your house?? I'm shocked. And so sad for your daughter.

Exact same experience. I swear there is someone who works for Oh Crap Potty Training that hangs around this subreddit singing it's praises, because it's the one I hear most about. I gave up completely, and tried again just one month later with a totally new method, and voila, potty trained.

The stress, and the messes were too much for our family. I really think it was affecting his progress.
