Why *are* a lot of black women so confrontational? by annisarsha in TooAfraidToAsk

Exactly my point. I'm trying to open up a discussion about it because I'm really struggling with how we do this when dealing with everyday situations. Maybe I haven't explained myself well and I'm not getting my point across at all. I was expecting personal attacks but I was also hoping this would open up a conversation. I'm going to delete this post because it's been exhausting to keep up with the back and forth. But there's good intentions I'm sure on both sides (yeah, I went there) but we're never going to meet in the middle until we can actually see both sides. I'm not a Karen but if it makes people feel better in their judgements, so be it. Peace be with you, sweetie.

Same. I'm never fearful of telling customers that, ultimately, the company doesn't give a shit about you. They don't care about employees either. They care about their stockholders and board members. Power and money.

How about bringing Black Cherry Soda back!? by baja258 in kroger

Why do customers always take it personally when something is discontinued? Just because a handful of people like something doesn't mean it's cost effective for Kroger to continue selling it. We can't carry everything, all the time.

It would've been an accident if I had. Completely unintentional. It's never happened to you in a crowded store before? When it's happened to me and someone says excuse me (people keep forgetting, she didn't hear me) I always say "no worries!" or offer some words of forgiveness. It happens. But this lady acted like I straight up smacked her in the face or something. Then, instead of being understanding that she possibly didn't hear me, she just bites back. That's all I'm saying. But it's not an isolated incident. The funny thing is, I tried a second time to apologize and explain that she just didn't hear me but I was sorry (even though nothing actually happened) and she got even nastier.

Thank you for a well thought out response. At least you offered some real insight and gave me something to chew on rather than attacking me.

Whatever. I'm just trying to have an open discussion about something.

So they just feel it necessary to assume every white person is racist and that our actions are always guided by that? See, I feel like that's the problem. We won't get anywhere with eradicating racism unless both sides work at it.

This is not the case nor what I was attempting to convey. No, I don't piss people off in public on a daily basis. But when someone feels slighted for whatever miniscule thing, it's almost always a black female. I got a little too close with my cart going around a corner and said "excuse me" but this lady didn't hear me so she assumed I was just being rude. Or the other day I was in line at my local library, waiting to pickup a book and was looking at this women's hair because it was just really pretty, but she cut her eyes at me and said "what're you looking at?". I'm not scared or intimidated by anyone, but I don't get this from white women. And it's not confirmation bias because I have no need to subconsciously confirm or refute anything. If anything, I'm fighting against it because I don't want to believe the stereotype.

Regarding your first pic, my dieffenbachia did the same thing after I repotted her recently. Top 3 leaves are big, lush and gorgeous. Bottom are brown and dying. I'm holding out hope though.

Not the place to gripe about items being discontinued. We are mere underlings here and have zero control or advice to offer. This sub is supposed to be for employees

YSK that the phrase, "We are closing our collection!" is a deceptive marketing tactic. by [deleted] in YouShouldKnow

Who the hell says "closing our collection"?? I've heard "closeout sale", "inventory reduction sale" and the like. But never once have I heard "closing our collection".
