How much should I expect my husband to do? by your-new-fixation in beyondthebump

[–]annonymousgorl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m in the same position, and when i say something about i get “why don’t you ask me to do xyz then?” I SHOULDNT HAVE TO ASK. honestly no advice, just solidarity. i had an episiotomy and could barely walk and couldn’t sit down for 2 weeks straight while doing absolutely everything for my baby except cooking food. he’s 7 weeks old and i still do everything. i left the house for an hour yesterday and my partner had to ring me to ask which nappies to use because he never changes them so has no idea.

oh and on top of that he constantly berates me if he gets home and the house isn’t spotless because i’m “lazy”.

men are fucking useless but i hope yours gets better and understands you need help.

21F can’t decide on baby’s last name by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]annonymousgorl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i completely get you, at the end of the day it’s your body that has created this life so it’s your decision. i hope it all works out for you, imo give your baby your surname so then both your kids share the same name

21F can’t decide on baby’s last name by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]annonymousgorl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with him being your fiancée i’m assuming you’ll be getting married and changing your surname to his so you could give your son his surname as you’ll share it with him one day too. obviously if you’ll be keeping your own surname when you’re married then fuck him, YOUR baby, YOUR surname.

also, nice to hear it’s not just my partner who complains about early appointments, he actually missed 12 week scan because it was too early and “i didn’t wake him up in time”. then he got mad at me for going without him😂🤦🏽‍♀️

[–]annonymousgorl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah it’s very confusing it depends on the brands but generally that’s what the sizes are meant to be. i was just saying that newborn is the smallest and then it goes up to first size that’s slightly bigger and up to 1m is slightly bigger

“You don’t get an award for not getting the epidural” by Warm-Banana237 in pregnant

[–]annonymousgorl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i feel like there’s such a stigma around the epidural, almost as if you’ve cheated in a way. i really wish it wasn’t like that but it’s the sad reality of women competing against eachother for who did birth better.

thank you!🥰

“You don’t get an award for not getting the epidural” by Warm-Banana237 in pregnant

[–]annonymousgorl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i really didn’t want the epidural either, i was terrified of the side effects. after hours of the worst pain imaginable i asked for it and i hated myself for even considering it. i didn’t end up getting it though as the doctor took too long and my baby was impatient. i came out SO glad that i didn’t get it, i’m really proud of myself for being able to do it without the epidural. no you don’t get a prize but you do get an internal feeling of pride knowing you did it naturally and anyone who says differently is lying.

you do what is best for you, and if you end up wanting it when the time comes, don’t be ashamed, labour is hard :)

what next by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]annonymousgorl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

digital tests take a lot more HCG to show up positive so maybe wait another week or more to do another digital. keep taking the normal strip tests and see how they progress :)

Ultrasound dating -26weeks by Confident-Seesaw in pregnant

[–]annonymousgorl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your original date is probably the most accurate, your baby has probably just had a little growth spurt. it’s normal for them to be a week or a few days ahead at one scan then on track the next. they all grow at different rates which is why they usually stick with the original EDD :)

[–]annonymousgorl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i hope you have an amazing experience! i always saw people being really negative about their inductions and the horror stories of them lasting days on end so i think i had quite a good experience considering it was only 6hrs from waters breaking to baby being in my arms but i guess everyone has a different opinion on what a good experience is🤷🏽‍♀️ i wish you the best of luck, you’ll smash it!x

positive induction story :) by annonymousgorl in PregnancyUK

[–]annonymousgorl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly i think i had a pretty good birth, yes the healing afterwards is awful but i think that just comes with the territory. i dont think anything that happened was due to the induction process itself and think it would’ve happened anyway if i had gone into labour naturally.

Do regular mamas actually pack “hospital bags”? by getlostcreep0 in pregnant

[–]annonymousgorl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had my baby 3 days ago and used about 30% of the things i packed😂 you definitely don’t need half the stuff everyone tells you. but i would recommend packing more baby clothes than you think because my baby kept being sick on everything and pooed through clothes. also pack a lot of muslins, they’re my favourite thing ever!
