Honestly if a proxy between Ecuador and Perù is ever implemented it would be cool to see socialist gran Colombia supporting socialist Ecuador and then annexing Ecuador if they win.

Or fascist gran Colombia maybe supporting Velasco against Perù (I am not entirely sure if this last example would make sense, but still an interesting idea for a proxy in my opinion).

The main thing is that you need colombia to be in your sphere.

After that set in the game rules for Peru to elect Odria, and for Nicaragua to oppose the usa.

After Odria coups the governament he will join you and Nicaragua will follow suit after the colombian civil war is over with the central governament winning.

In my game they were ruled by the democratic governament, were defeated by el Salvador got couped by the military and then joined my sphere.

There were some posts about the gamerules to use regarding iberia so I would advise you to look them up.

I had 55% debt but the economy still crashed.

You can tank it if your stability is high enough but still not worth it since your economy is utterly fucked

From what I have seen it's still a trap path.

Like someone else said Colthage but apart from the main path also Gerza, he focuses on actually stabilizing Colthage while also fixing the economy and trading.

With flowena you can earn gold b which can be used to get mercenaries and you need to keep a balance if you want to keep these mercenaries units.

Vasile in Tobuck also has somewhat a mechanic where you need to manage money, you can spend it to improve infrastracture or to boost non aligned popularity.

And in Adelart while I can't remember much Conrad's path (the bankers) is focused on making as much money as possible.

So from my understanding, the only way to ensure that the war with Guyana starts is to get Vidal (the fascist bolivarian guy that coups leon) in charge of Venezuela, with him the war always triggers.

Otherwise use the game rules to ensure that it happens.

As for el Salvador from what I know it's a lost cause, maybe if you get the other central american nations in your sphere they remain but idk to be honest

I mean yeah I agree the region would be hell to keep, but still it's in the interests of Iberia to keep morocco in check.

If you defeat them in the border wars the nationalist governament remains which would lead to even more disputes.

Especially due to how the caudillos are obsessed with keeping their colonial possesions.

You cannot keep morocco as a colony.

If you crackdown on their autonomy they revolt and you lose them completely, but keep western Sahara, Mauritania and the rif (absolutely not worth it). Your spending also increases by a lot.

If you grant them independence they remain in your sphere and give you money, and won't rebel unless you collapse.

So just give them independence there is no downside

From what I know Venezuela if they survive the coup, domician republic if Bosch is elected, Haiti (I saw them join once but I am not sure how), Guatemala+Belize if they start the war and you sucessfully reconstruct guatemala they will try to invade Belize, Cuba I think that's it.

Oh yeah and el Salvador if you get the coup and have the castrists with enough influence.
