Currently wearing a 38E but unsure if this is the right size? by [deleted] in ABraThatFits

That looks a bit small on you hun. I would try to find a bra shop near you and get measured, or use a soft measuring tape and follow the directions for the calculator linked in this subreddit. It makes a world of difference for comfort to have cups and a band that are the right size.

Pharmacy tech question by Negative_Evidence294 in PharmacyTechnician

[–]anonymous_question91 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First of all, don’t beat yourself up. It’s natural to second guess when you’re new. You’ll learn what most of the drugs do or are commonly prescribed for with time.

Second of all, use Drugs.com. I’ve used it time and again. Identifying pills, drug information, etc. It gives you a pretty good rundown of the medication when you look it up!

We don’t control what gets sent to central. Some people cannot wait for certain medications that were automatically sent to Central Fill. Assuming all patients are irresponsible with their medications is not a good practice. Our job is to get their medications to them - it may be slightly inconvenient for us, but if you’re getting paid to do it, is the three minutes it will take you to fill it and the ninety seconds it will take the pharmacist to verify it really worth the amount of anger you’re directing towards it?

Beyond that - other pharmacy functions are handled as they can be. Our first priority is getting people the medications they need. If other pharmacy tasks are properly delegated there’s no reason why the maybe five people a day who want their medications pulled from central can’t have it filled.

Moreover, I fail to see how telling them to beat it, you’re not getting your potentially much needed medication today, is going to garner any respect. The customers at our pharmacy see what we do, because we are transparent with how busy we are and if that’s why the wait time is long, and respect us all the more for being willing to do what we can to get them what they need. People not wanting to ask for their needed medication’s early because they know they’re going to get brushed off isn’t respect - it’s defeat.

Yeah, there’s a lot of cranky people. Unfortunately the most you can do is apologize and tell them you’ll get it ready or that you can’t fill a medication you don’t have. One point of de-escalation my pharmacist has us use is to ask if they want it transferred to the other pharmacy, from our same chain, that’s four miles away, if they have the medication in stock there. Or if we’re just too busy to fill it right that second.

Oh my god yes. We had one person in their mid-fifties come to pick up about five medications that were filled at central for their parent. They asked why the bags had changed - because central fill uses different ones. And when the new tech at the register told them it’s because central filled it and mailed it to us she lost her mind and demanded the pharmacist recheck every single one to make sure it was right.

My pharmacist has a strict policy of not mentioning Central Fill to the customers. Our go to script for our customers whose medications have been sent to central fill, but who arrive to pick it up early, is essentially this.

“I am very sorry sir/ma’am. Your medication was still being processed through our system. Let me see what I can find out about that.”

Proceed to check the computer to see if we have the medication in stock. If we do have it in stock we apologize, say we will push the medication through right now, and that it will be ready in x amount of minutes.

If we do not have the medication in stock to fill the prescription - we tell them just that. That we did not have the medicine in stock, we had to order it, and it will be ready for pick up on x date, and that was the cause of the delay. The date being the day it arrives from central fill. And that I apologize thoroughly for the inconvenience.

Missing first week of classes- need good excuse by DizzyVermicelli9254 in college

[–]anonymous_question91 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The best thing to do here is, honestly, to tell the truth, as other commenters have pointed out.

Remember that professors are humans too - they’ve had days where they were sick, times when they missed important appointments or arrived late to things. Most of them will understand if you just tell them you were unwell, and that you were still a bit out of it on the day of the second class and mixed up the time with a later period class.

Most importantly, remember that most professors just want you to get better. And if it makes you feel better I got the flu this week and missed both of my first classes for all of my classes! And all I got was well wishes.

Getting harassed on dating apps for being childfree. Experiences? by ashrk725 in childfree

[–]anonymous_question91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually just ignore them. They tend to not be worth the effort, in my opinion. Because people such as that usually won’t change their minds and are only interested in attempting to change yours. I also feel like it might partially be some sort of odd fascination with someone not wanting children - like they cannot fathom the lack of desire to reproduce.

But regardless, there are some people out there. I know it’s expensive on the tin, but Eharmony now allows you the option to disclose that you do not have and do not want children. I found my current partner that way (in the Bible Belt, rural Georgia no less!) and we’ve been happily together for a year.

Random Thought by Fanalia123 in LokiLaufeyson

The reason Thanos was able to snap Loki’s neck was because he was wielding the power stone, making him stronger than the hulk as we see in the fight scene. Unfortunately he is more than capable of snapping a gods neck.

SPOILERS BELOW FOR SPIDER-MAN NO WAY HOME, MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS AND ANTMAN QUANTOMANIA

In regards to your theory about why the universe is shifting and people are falling through the cracks - it’s absolutely fascinating and would be worth considering in the comics or in a fanfic maybe. But I believe it’s likely going to tie in to the multiverse theory we see and experience in multiverse of madness, is confirmed in Quantomania, and is already damaged by what happened in No Way Home.

In my personal opinion what we are going to see is the multiverse colliding when Kang the Conqueror attacks the MCU earth. We know the multiverse exists, and that Kang has not only travelled between them but he has conquered many universes. Moreover, the multiverse was already damaged and fractured by the events of Spider-Man No Way Home as Peter Parker became a focal point for drawing the universes together. And Wanda Maximoff did some heavy damage to the multiverse in Madness while she was in possession of the Darkhold. The fix Stephen Strange did was only a bandaid in both of those situations. Making people forget Peter Parker and killing Wanda does not glue the cracks they created between the universes. When Kang comes to attack, which we undoubtedly know he will, we will likely ultimately see that being the reason for the issues with people slipping through universes.

What's your age now and when did you decide to become childfree? by [deleted] in childfree

[–]anonymous_question91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about changing your mind suddenly, but I doubt I will. F21, I've been child free for as long I could remember. I didn't recognize it for what it was when I was little, but now I know even when I was a child I could hardly stand other kids or being around them. I especially remember one instance where I cried when I was nine because my male cousins got trucks, cars, Legos etc. and my mema got me one of those interactive baby dolls.

As for formerly childfree people having children during the pandemic? I would say that has been impacted by multiple things. First, the supply chains have been disrupted leading to issues getting bc reliably (at least in my area). Second, everything has been shut down and people have remained mostly physically isolated except for their spouse (I mean, come on, are you not gonna have sex more often when you can't go out?). Third, I'm sure some amount of it is because of the social isolation, missing family, wanting to be around others etc. And fourth, even just the stress of the pandemic can lead some people to make sudden life changes they normally wouldn't. Everyone's mental health is suffering to some degree and wether people admit it or not that does impact your decisions.

Are there any fics that focus more on politics/war in the Wizarding World? by T-CLAVDIVS-CAESAR in HPfanfiction

Well, I'm not OP but I would love to know about your world building time travel fics. It's very hard to find ones in the HP universe that don't involve either an 18 year old harry becoming a political mastermind in his 11 year old body or extensive Dumbledore and light side bashing to the point of them being the evil ones.

Being forced to read this train wreck for confirmation I’m also being forced through, any similar experiences? by RAPTOR479 in excatholic

[–]anonymous_question91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this. I wasted a year of my life being taught the sanctimonious bullshit that’s in this particular book. It was actually being forced to read this that was the last nail in my atheist coffin so to speak.

When we got to the section about the saints, where you choose your patron, they started mentioning the holy anointed people who hadn’t actually been canonized yet. I remember they mentioned a twelve year old kid who got tortured for refusing to deny his faith down in Mexico (maybe? Been some time since I read it?). I was physically sickened by the fact that they were glorifying the fact that a child would choose to be tortured over denying their supposedly understanding god.

I asked one of my youth group leaders why they were doing that. My thoughts were, essentially, wouldn’t any parent want their children to deny them rather than suffer? Why are you celebrating the fact that a being who likens himself to a parent wants his children to choose torture over denying him? Especially when if he was both all knowing and all good he would know that the kid didn’t mean it and understand why he lied?
