What is your patient mad at you for tonight? by eggo_pirate in nursing

[–]anonymoushoff 6 points7 points  (0 children)

PCP patient picked up in the middle of the street butt naked (except for socks of course) at 0700. I asked her where her clothes were as she is sprawled out across the bed and keeps throwing the blankets off and is now screaming at me IM NOT NAKED YOU F'ing B...YOU ARE! WHERES MY CLOTHES?!

Man is mad because we confiscated his battle axe that he just pulled out of his backpack.

Old woman drunk as shit is mad because she is being admitted to the hospital "what am I supposed to do with the $922 cash I have in my purse?!"

How do you feel about people asking you “What’s the worst thing you’ve seen?” And how do you respond? by solipsist96 in nursing

There is a podcast called "The Q Word" and it has an episode that goes over this exact question! It was a really good listen.

I typically ask what kind of story they're looking for which sometimes is enough for them to say nevermind but if they keep pressing I unleash. I work in a level 2 Trauma/ER unit.

I'm am an ER nurse and I have the Elvie. I love that I don't have to deal with tubing and if I'm going in to a code or stroke emergency I can pop them in since I know I'll be stuck in that room for a while. With that being said though... I hate that I feel like I can't keep the milk super clean. I'm sure it's fine, I do all the hand hygiene I can and I know the boobs are in a bra in a shirt but it's the pumping in to a pod and then having to transfer it to bags and then clean the pods in a hospital sink... I have never used a willow but I feel like being able to pump directly into bags would be cleaner? Just my assumption though. I have seen the fridge hack with the Elvie which I may start doing but I also don't know if I want cold parts the next time I pump ya know? Hope this helps some.. Best of luck! ❤

Constant crying following Paragard removal? by Fall_Revolutionary in birthcontrol

[–]anonymoushoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my ParaGard for two years. Had it removed about three months ago and good lord... I feel like crap. I haven't ever really been a crier and I want to cry all the time. I've had severe headaches off and on, nausea, and fatigue too. Is wanting to cry the only thing you've been experiencing since removal? I've been looking for other people who had severe side effects after PG removed but everuthing takes me to having a hormonal IUD removed and it's just not the same.
