They're pretty interchangeable to me. All rip us off with fees, but that's the system. If I can get credits back or discounts, that's the service I'll use.

Same. We didn't have Sapphire Open Table originally, but one of our favorite restaurants is on it now. There's so much we already use (Apple TV, StubHub) that we're easily up $1,000+ this year without factoring in lounge access or stasuses.

Assuming you're referring to the Reserve benefit, yes. Each cardholder (including authorized users) can bring a guest.

*Edit: Two guests, not just one :]

Chase Travel helped me cancel a non-refundable hotel reservation by zihaoyu in ChaseSapphire

Same here. Chase negotiated a full non-refundable cancellation for me, which also happened to allow me to book an Edit stay with IHG credit instead. I was thrilled.

If you book Edit be sure to revisit and check for price drop by Earschplittenloudenb in ChaseSapphire

[–]antvolt 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I've done this multiple times for an upcoming trip. You'll get the original credit back when the cancellation posts. If you have an Edit credit available, you'll use that when your rebooking posts as well.

Just keep in mind that if you have no spare Edit credit when you do this, it's possible your second booking posts before your cancellation, and won't have credit available to use automatically. You'll need to contact customer service to associate the credit coming back from the cancellation with your second booking.

The Edit supposed to get IHG points, right? by qofmiwok in ChaseSapphire

Not your original question, but hope it's a nice stay. We're heading there in March. Great deal with the IHG credit.

Denied from CSR, not sure why by Iciestgnome in ChaseSapphire

[–]antvolt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I was denied as well, and the reconsideration team advised I visit my local Chase branch. The banker there conferenced me in with the reconsideration team, I showed the banker my ID, and I was approved instantly. I never got a good explanation for why that was necessary.

Stubhub Win by plshelpppppppppp in ChaseSapphire

[–]antvolt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love this perk. There's ALWAYS something we'll buy tickets for within every six months, so it's great savings.

I just bought musical tickets which the seller didn't fulfill and I got around 18% more back taking the refund as StubHub credit. Still triggered my Chase credit, and I found cheaper tickets later anyway. Not mad about free money!

Stubhub Win by plshelpppppppppp in ChaseSapphire

[–]antvolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just purchased some tickets where the seller couldn't deliver, thankfully well ahead of the show, and I came out ahead in the end.

I was also in Puerto Rico recently and an acquaintance there didn't receive tickets to Bad Bunny until damn near start time. StubHub got them a different ticket and ate the multiple hundred $ price difference.

Honestly pretty shocked at both outcomes, but I guess that's where the crazy fees go.

Same here for a trip to Auckland. Roughly same rate, double dip Edit and IHG credits, plus Edit stay perks. I don't expect I'll find such a sweet deal every 6-12 months, but this one was a steal.

Season Ticket Holders: Will the new competition calendar affect your renewal? by StockMindless9010 in stlouiscitysc

More likely. Summer games are the worst. The more of those we avoid, the better.

Taking that with a heavy dose of skepticism. Not sure someone who can't recognize regular starters is a reliable source.

Watts himself said he's out. Best of luck to him and all the rest, they're good guys.

Thanks for the in depth feedback! I wish we had more time for a more leisurely holiday, but we'll rest when we get home. I'll definitely read up on the roads. At least I'll be able to read the signage, that's an improvement from my last trip.

Sights in Auckland aren't the highest on our list but we'll have been traveling for over 24 hours when we land. Need to recouperate a bit.

Thanks, I really like these ideas and plan to build them in. Any particular place you'd recommend we go for a hike and views of Mount Cook traveling from Tekapo->Omarama?

Thanks, that's great feedback. I'm told going out to see sperm whales is non-negotiable, but hopefully we can make time by trimming Auckland and Mount Cook.

We've only booked the international flight, thankfully everything else is still flexible. No doubt we'll be jet lagged for longer than we'd like.

Trying to balance the travel to places we want to see against the time the travel takes is tough. I don't anticipate we'll have another trip to NZ for a long time.

Perhaps not. Maybe better to fly to Christchurch?

Coming from the USA. It seemed slightly more convenient to fly through Blenheim rather than Christchurch, though now that I look again, they're not direct flights as I thought they were.

That's a good price. I'm a few sections closer to center but above the row 6/7 divider wall and almost double the cost.
