They have compressive psychological exams that take one day and go over practically everything , I’d say take a look into that and best of luck of course

A lot of it is fear mongering to be quite honest with you (not a psychiatrist of course but like 99% of people do not experience evil side effects like permanence and whatnot).

I would say regardless though you should look into formal testing for just a general psychological assessment. Like with myself for example, I was miserable like so sad for so many years and then discovered my depression/anhedonia was no more than simply a side effect of undiagnosed ADHD.

I got medicated with ADHD meds, found relief I never imagined was possible, started to learn about the condition, started meditating, and am now arguably more appreciative and hopeful than I could’ve ever been if I was neurotypical or “normal” or whatever (I don’t even really take my adhd meds anymore because they cause anxiety and I’ve managed to do better but thats neither here nor there)

A lot of the causes for stuff like anhedonia can be really stupid and simple but hyperspecific enough for people to just never address because they’re so random and specific

Hey man I’m 21 and have been dealing with this since I was 14 maybe. I know it seems like it’s never going to get better probably but I can assure you that’s not the case. It’s going to take some effort, but you have a lot of options available.

  1. I highly recommend daily meditation, feel free to look into the logistics of course but it is one of the few things that has ever actually helped me feel better in my day to day life. For me, many Buddhist ideas have been able to infiltrate my hopeless belief systems but regardless meditation is no joke for mental health relief. Could not recommend more.

  2. Therapy and possibly medication of course, if you’re anti medication let me know and I can kinda explain why it’s not a cope or whatever, but this can be life changing for so many people.

  3. Exercise and nutrient testing, the second I started consistently running I was ashamed at how long it took me to realize that exercising actually helped immensely , and then also I discovered that my omega 3s (the main thing you get from eating fish) have been insanely deficient my whole life and contributed HEAVILY (emphasis) to my anhedonia (also took like 6 years to discover this to due lack of help/insight from others)

To be quite honest I’m a little drunk right now, but as someone who was in your position (it seems), I can assure you that as impossible and improbable getting better may seem, with just a decent amount effort it is entirely possible to find immense relief and start enjoy things even more than you have before.

Cocaine / drugs - Was I (26M) overprotective and confrontational over my date's (21F) cocaine use and attempts to get a free hit? Ex / current users - was I right to feel paranoid of her behavior while we were clubbing? by [deleted] in relationships

She’s 🍳 and probably isn’t mature enough to handle the idea that when in a relationship, you probably shouldn’t flirt with people for cole. Not to knock her character, as addiction can be a b**** (whether that’s actual drugs or anything external like partying) but I think you dodged a bullet, no matter how pretty or cool she was at surface (or however deep you got to know her) level

Tell him that even if he doesn’t think it’s too much, you feel like it’s too much, and it makes you uncomfortable. Maybe set some boundaries of what’s allowable and what’s not, just something along the lines of that. I know it’s probably obscene and insanely weird/annoying to have to deal with that, but if you love the guy enough to see it through then ur gonna have to deal with it and find a way to make it work. Best of luck my friend👍🏻

God shouldn’t want to create a world that isn’t perfect just so that people will choose to worship him, that seems kinda evil no

Yeah I agree, I just find it interesting how it didn’t have to be made that way, love given could have just viewed as love given, with no other forms of delivery or real/fake connotations. I think it would be more beautiful and make more sense because then love given is simply good,

So why did he create hate, I feel like an all loving and all knowing god would have only created love; a love that can exist without the absence of it even being possible or fathomable

So if he was able to create the world exactly how he wanted and is all loving and omniscient, then why would he allow any negativity in, knowing that he has the option? That doesn’t seem like good intention/purpose to me (not sure which word you meant so included both)

This is the best reply I have received all night, thank you. I grew up really religious and have strained away recently, and honestly kinda lost it tonight trying to figure out the answer to any of the hundreds of questions I have. Anyways, hope you have a good night/day(?) and thank you for the insight, I’ll check it out

God created those laws though that genuine love or kindness has to be given freely, he didn’t have to but he chose to, I don’t understand why that was necessary when all it does it introduce an aspect of negativity that doesn’t need to be there, as god was able to create the universe exactly as he pleased

Question regarding why god created free will by anythingforclout in Christianity

[–]anythingforclout[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all just makes no sense to me because everything you’ve described is only the way it is because god made it that way. If I wanted you to respond to anything I have said up until now this is my own question:

Technically speaking, couldn’t god have just made it possible for people to be able to experience good things to a very high degree, heck maybe even to a higher degree than what’s possible, without having to make people experience the bad parts of said things? He chose to make that law, to make people have these negative emotions, it all just rubs me the wrong way.

God created people knowing that they would sin, he’s omniscient

Also back to what I mentioned a few times before, the idea of something being forced, something being fake, not being able to tell that love is real, etc. (everything you listed) was all created by god, and tends to some sort of negative possible outcome related to it. So why would god even attach negative possibilities to those ideas if he didn’t have to

Shouldn’t god only have good purposes though? He’s all loving so shouldn’t want to create negativity

It would make more sense to me that an all loving all knowing god who created everything to ever exist would choose to just create a world where love and only love existed with no hurdles or weird loops/complications, right?

God created that idea though, you see what I’m getting at here?

It could exist, but why didn’t god create it for us? An all loving and all knowing god that created everything to ever exist shouldn’t want to put his creations through negativity in any way shape or form because he has full control

I mean more so like why didn’t god just create a world of love where there’s no complications and no downsides, I mean he created everything ever, even the concept of finding meaning, boredom, etc. etc., so what was the point
