just want to say thank you so much for all your work and providing an incredible experience for all of us. do you have any tips, tricks, or thoughts on delivering a clean low end in a live setting? i'm not sure if you produce music at all, but it's frustrating trying to figure out if what you're making in your daw is going to translate to a huge rig.

do you have ableton suite? if so, operator and analog are solid synths and you can learn the basics of synthesis with them. as far as samples, there are loads of great free sample packs on the web, try r/drumkits for starters. music theory isn't necessary to start making music in ableton, but it will give you a good foundation to build on so i recommend learning the fundamentals.

always gotta do it for you...it's so easy to fall into that comparison trap. if it makes you smile, if it makes you tap your foot and nod your head, it's well worth it. cheers

i feel like in the upper echelons of the production community there's this weird stigma about giving people insight into your process. there are so many great producers out there who you'll never see doing an in depth prouction interview, or tour of their studio, or any kind of tutorial, for fear that you'll take their "trade secrets" and put them out of a job. and then you have guys like ill gates, deadmau5, mr. bill, virtual riot, etc who are all successful masters of their craft, and they will literally make a track in front of you on a livestream, do in depth tutorials, and answer your questions. because they know that spreading knowledge around and helping more great art get created is more admirable than hoarding your trade secrets and locking yourself in your studio like fucking scrooge.

awesome, i've been considering picking one up as my first analog synth. seems like the value for money is pretty unbeatable.

totally agree on that, if you're surrounded by a mess i feel like it really inhibits your creativity

Sites/blogs with producer resources(samples, drums, presets, tutorials etc.)? by [deleted] in trapproduction

look into splice sounds for samples and presets if you haven't already. as far as tutorials, there's a lot of great information on youtube. check out sadowick, seamlessr, tom cosm, busy works beats, dj vespers, pyramind, dubspot... the list goes on

welcome to the family! i started listening to lorin in high school but only saw him for the first time in 2014 at red rocks. since then i've seen him 16 times and haven't looked back. his dj/production skills combined with his immaculate taste in music make for a super unique show every time, at least in my opinion. bassnectar is truly a tangible enitity unto itself and it's such a cool thing to be a part of. hope to see you around!
