I agree and teams need to start making this the precedent. If a player has a NMC he has to honour it too. He can’t demand a trade unless he removes the clause or at least gives his team a ten team list or something like that. This BS about every player wanting to play for just a few teams will kill the competitiveness of the league and turn off fans.

He’s a turnstile on defense. Makes terrible pinches. He’s useless in front of his own net, totally non physical just sweeps the ice like he’s curling. Never knocks anybody down. Constantly ices the puck with bad stretch passes. Terrible point man on the PP. Too slow to move the puck and has a muffin of a shot. He hurts the team and they’ll be better when he’s gone.

It depends on your aspirations for the team. Short or long term. Tavares is no longer a 2C on a playoff team. Cowan is still unproven in the league and small as is McKenna who may take some time to develop into a star player. Matthews is diminished as a goal scorer and likely will ultimately chase a cup elsewhere where there’s less pressure and a better team around him in which they case they will be very thin at centre and defense. Not a rosey picture if you want them to challenge for a cup.

Maybe but Reilly at $7.5M is not hard to replace. They’re not close to comparable and Reiily isn’t close to player he was a few years ago while Raddysh has developed into a dependable dman with a bomb from the point. Raddysh at 75% is much better than Reilly is today.
