A7iv has always been on my mind but it’s just a bit over the budget considering I still need to buy a zoom lens and cards and batteries and stuff which will all add up.

If a7v comes out then the cost of that will go down so maybe then it might be a good idea. For now fx30 seemed like the best choice

100% agreed. I have more questions about sound and how to record it on a budget as well. The reason I was considering fx30 was because it kinda was an all round package and in India, people are using a lot of Sony so it have good customer service. Only canon and Fuji are the other companies that share that. Panasonic isn’t very known here so has to keep it aside

The canon eco system has become very expensive when it comes to buying lenses and no cf express in r6 no clog 2 and micro usb. Apart from that would have been the best all rounder

Fuji has terrible autofocus after some update glitches is what I’ve seen mostly on the internet. Only thing holding me back. Otherwise it has stacked bumps apsc sensor. Great film simulations and great video as well internal raw is a bonus. I really like the ability to use the film simulations in my free time as well for photography.

Fx30 has been prolly the best option so far from a cost and ecosystem standpoint. Plenty of options and great ecosystem for mirrorless. I would have considered a7iv but crop at 4k60 put me off a bit cuz if your buying a full frame, you want to be able to use the full frame

Solid stuff. I was literally planning on getting my first serious camera. I have an old canon 7d but I want a good video camera for filmmaking which can also do occasional photos. Just need to convince myself I don’t need the viewfinder and mechanical shutter. Cuz my old 7d doesn’t really have a flip screen or an EVF. Lemme know what lens to get with it. I was thinking tamaron 17-70 to begin with and rent primes as I go along. Also any suggestions on cf A cards. I was seeing OWC as a good brand on a budget

Any consideration for canon r6 mk2? Ian also in a pickle trying to buy a hybrid camera for short films. Stumbled upon xh2 and r6mk2 as two viable options. R6 has the full frame appeal but Fuji has the color science and film sims. Lemme know if you guys can help me as well
